And of course they do. That's why a separate board is/would be totally pointless.
You know, this all boils down to folks just being insecure about political topics. That's all. Just wanting to control what others can or cannot discuss in the first place. As if a topic is incapable of triggering the same basic emotions that isn't necessarily *political*, that no one can control about anyone and is their own fault.. oh, didn't think so.
Political topics encompass quite a great deal of things in life, in existence, however directly related it is or not to nearly everything. It's really misleading the way a lot of folks, left or right (mostly center/moderate left or right), portray and describe it, as if it's a very specific topic.
I don't believe any outright topic should be disallowed "just cuz". But if that's your controlling style, that's your style. I entirely agree with the change in their rules if that's actually a change in it, how convenient for so many of you?
Politic, bad!
Edited again: I know that a lot of moderators online tell people to not talk about politics and religion. I'm wondering, what hidden or "non-debatable" standard is there with that? What substance is there with that dynamic aside from some "cops" online telling people what to say or not?
Oh, there is none.
Because there is some hidden "standard" stating that politics and religion shouldn't be allowed to be discussed?
Are you implying that? And if so, in what little bubble is that true?
"Sex" by itself doesn't necessarily have anything to do with it, first. Of course a lot of political topics are related to it somehow? Who cares? Second, politics and religion aren't exactly "taboo" by any means. It's a major part of basic existence in a human society. With "politics", it's probably the single most universal and integral part of human existence, if you can even define it as a single thing when it encompasses so much. Short of basic survival, interactions, etc. which isn't really comparable huh?
And I dig the avatar. Aren't those extinct?
Because valve is an american company and has to follow american rules. And inflation can affect american's ability to buy video games from valve? And of course, if one or both lead to a draft, those drafted people will have a harder time gaming.
We'll be squeezing those trump maga rats till their heads pop.
It's not really bad, but it's getting old, and becoming very annoying, just like me! 😁
The political thread would provide nothing of value and just people spamming "woke." No thank you, and thank god valve would never do such a thing. We don't need an entire "political board" of people crying woke.
Well that's funny.
It is a topic and suggestion better posted into the official "Suggestions / Ideas" sub-Forums:
