I never mentioned Wii U. I mentioned Wii in my thread and I'm still curious if the Wii got as much clickbait stuff on Youtube as the Switch stuff did? If it did it seems it wasn't so out of control.
The whole seventh console generation was crammed with janky, stupid gimmicks. Dual shock touchpads, Kinect, the Wii accessories, motion controls, skateboards, etc.
Anyway, I don't think there was much more than disappointment that the Wii was going to be only marginally more powerful than an OG Xbox.
To this day, someone mentions the wii, and I get this face - :/
And the games got dumbed down to center around said gimmick mostly used once or twice thru the game.
The point I'm trying to make but seem 2 be failing is that the Wii/Wii U era (and even Gamecube) didn't seem to be chocked full of clickbait videos that turn out to be a fake rumor. However to be fair when Bloomburg reported the Switch 2 Pro it was shocking they got it wrong because they are reputable due to being a business newspaper. Unlike traditional press papers these businesses ones focus first on future investors and investments so getting it wrong has some serious costs unlike home news. Investors whom pay top $$$ will no longer support that company if they start having a slippery slope.
These special newspapers tend to be in the 500$ + a year which isn't meant for the likes of you or me that don't invest. They know AT LEAST half a year in advance what's going on with the world economy and shuffle funds appropriately and that doesn't count for hidden stock exchanges.
