Games that deserves a remake or reboot
With all the remakes and reboots that were made nowadays, some shouldn't have been made (mostly because no one asked for it) and some surprisingly were well remade, like Karateka. In this topic, feel free to suggest or even demand games, since the 80s or 90s from all computers or consoles, that should have a remake or reboot for PC mostly. In my point of view, are two kinds of games that should be remade: the first kind should be good games that are too old graphically and too dificult to play nowadays; the second kind of games should be bad games (mostly with good story and good concept but horrible graphics, gameplay or controls) that deserve a second chance by rebooting it.

The original third gen Pokémon games. Nintendo did a remaster a couple years back which was pretty good, but what I want is for them to rerelease the originals for the modern consoles.

Looking at your avatar...I truly think it deserve another remake.
Not the bad remake recently...the original one with all those gory death scenes like it should be.

games that deserves remake, yes, so many great concept of game has been produced in the last decades,a lot of them needs polishing,
and some of the new AAA games are very polished games but without good story or good concept.
personally, I have played too much game, listen to too many music, I think the new generation deserve better than whatever games and music has to offer.
my fear is good game will make some nerd gamers life tragical.

and really I cant recommend a game that people should spend more time on

Now that we are on the AI age, should be cool to play a remake of "iD" a zx spectrum game from 1986 that was, and still is, a very unique misterious and very educational (in many levels) adventure. The original game was only text with no audio and no graphics, but now it could have audio dialog in various languages and some cool animated background graphics (in pixelart or not), typing or talking to a mic could be optional. The most recent similar game to iD was the Simulacra games. In the iD game we talk (by text) with some entity that has possessed our computer, and we have to gain the entity trust to reveal hints and tips about himself so we can identify what and who this entity is. This game was impossible to play on NES, and was never released on C64, but now with a mic on headsets any console could play this remake.
This game always gave me the sensation of talking to an AI (simulated, but even so realistic), but this entity has emotions, if we offend him he gets angry and the trust levels get lower until reach 0%, if we get friendly and patience it will be happy so the trust levels rise up. The educational part of this game, is that the entity talk mostly in riddles and some philosophy concepts, in the other hand the player learns how to talk (or messeging in this case), to influence (in the good way) , and how to gain trust. A thing that the new generations nowadays need to learn, because the hate speech will not take them anywhere.

Many text adventures from the 80s should be remade in graphic adventures or Point-and-Click adventures. One of those I would love to see and play is the Ci-U-Than Trilogy: Cozumel, Los Templos Sagrados and Chichen Itza. This was an only spanish text adventure with a very rich good story. In 1920, Doc Monro is a man traveling from Cuba and after a storm his boat crashed into the Yucatan coast. Alone, in a strange land he must survive and explore the Yucatan jungle and find the secrets and misteries of the Maya civilization.
The remake of this trilogy, could be in one game splitted in 3 chapters or 3 part stand alone games, like the original, and should be an Unreal 5 graphic adventure in FP, exploring the Maya cities in ruins and in original form full of life. It shouldn't be a Tomb Raider or Uncharted game but more like Myst or Atlantis style. In addition as an extra, the original AD trilogy could be included, the DOS version was the worst version, but the Amiga was the best. If possible a translated version in English would be nice too.

Empire Earth & Spec Ops: The Line. Still hoping Konami isn't going to ♥♥♥♥ up Silent Hill 2 Remake, I know it's naive but hey one can hope.

MajorMUD

30 years later it's still the best at what it did. There's no other game like it.

I'm planning on working on my own server so I can play it again with my dad. I'm getting a Windows 7 laptop which I'm hoping is old enough to run Worldgroup BBS.

For the AD adventure fans out there, here is some tools that could help anyone who want, need or imagine to translate or create new adventures for the 8-bit and 16-bit machines with the same AD games style. In fact, this tools are the same AD used to create their adventures, and now are public domain.
