is call of duty propaganda
like on its own? I know recruiters use it to try and get kids into the army or whatever branch, but without that does it still promote the us military

It's one of most obvious "Murica hell yeah we win everytime, kill the bad guys and bomb some civilians" franchises out there. :lunar2019deadpanpig: Every once in a while you get entry that might try to do something different but yes, propaganda all the way

America's Army was the OG.

IIRC CoD and the U.S. Military are pretty cozy.

You're just ignorant to it.

The fact that you know how to reload guns you've never held- CHILDREN, have never held- that's just scratching the surface of the problem. You're still slaughtering humanoid figures for "fun"

It's been ingrained in us that this what entertainment looks like- incessant violence. It's indoctrination whether you choose to see it or not

Didn’t “Call of Duty: World at War” let you play as the Russians?

And Black Ops 2 in the mission “Achilles Veil“ you play as the “Opposing Forces”.

That's a stretch.

This sounds like when people blame Video games for Real Life Violence.

What specifically is a stretch?

Not really, no.

It copies a lot of 80's action movie tropes and clichés but that's about it.

You were born a blank slate- the only reason you think it's awesome is because you were told it's awesome. Same reason you speak English, or like the music you grew up around, or know the people that you do. It's all a product of your environment. If you had grown up with everyone learning agriculture and non-warfare engineering, you'd have different passions and views of what "awesome" are

Yeah it is glorified western propaganda from a non western perspective i am pretty sure of that.
