What do you guys think of RTX Remix mods?
I've seen some new ones lately but honestly, the newer textures impressed me more than the lighting and shadows. While the lights and shadows are impressive from a technical standpoint, they ruin the atmosphere and intended lighting of the original games, especially when they affect the gameplay.

Am I wrong for thinking that the initial ads for it were meant to get people to focus more on pathtracing and raytracing than the ability to change textures in-game on the fly? Even though the latter part seems like it'd be more useful for modders who want to streamline the modding process. Many of those older games simply have bad low resolution textures. Not necessarily that the lighting was bad. Games like Splinter Cell and Max Payne actually had great lighting and shadows. Textures were simply low resolution and blurry.

i think we just havent seen it executed in games well.
if they do the lighting well it could be better than the original

but i think that is rare.

Feels kinda pointless. Like yay portal now looks like a render but not worth the performance.
