The Japanese lady who is promoting AC Shadows wrote a book about pedophilia. Congrats Ubisoft!

Yeah such activist awards must mean a lot in term of "historical accuracy".

Her work speak volumes since she got hired as "historian" consultant giving more of what she does best pseudo history and activism spin offs:

The guy actually existed, although there's very little records of him.

If you carefully read the Wikipedia quotas

I thought all the vague "threats to our democracy" things were coming from the MAGAts.

Whut? Of course not. It's the democrats who say this. Duh.

re: "media illiteracy"
To figure out what that means, start with the definition of "media literacy":

the ability or skills to critically analyze for accuracy, credibility, or evidence of bias the content created and consumed in various media, including radio and television, the internet, and social media.

i.e, not just believing whatever bogus misinformation that you got fed on Facebook/Twitter/etc.

Which means that "media illiteracy" would be *believing* whatever stupid crap you just saw from some clickbait-y Youtube streamer or 4chan/reddit brigade.

(and "media literacy" was a concept long before the modern age of "everything I don't like is a Leftist Plot")

A very strange concept. What does this have to do with media? It is applicable to any information. And it is clearly a leftist plot, the way you talk about it. We should be critical of information anywhere except mainstream news channels? Lol.

It makes me think of things like "climate psychology" which are also complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. It's just psychology, it doesn't make any sense at all to zoom in on "climate" that much and pretend it is a separate discipline. It's just propaganda which creeps into everything and takes all kinds of different forms. It's insane.

The YouTuber just made an assumption of malicious intent but in my opinion is wrong and only took a brief set of information on a surface level.

This is what 99 44/100% of YouTubers do. They want to distort the truth to make clickbait. Yet people believe all their lies. Just because it is not someone in authority saying it.
:steamfacepalm:

99% of the people who share that stuff here don't believe any of it, they just share it to push a political narrative.

Correct. And for the money they can make from the rubes that swallow the lies.

Redditors have been stumbling all over each other, going back and forth editing the Wikipedia page about the historical figure Yasuke, the protag of AC Shadows, in order to "prove" that a black samurai in feudal Japan is totally accurate. Yes really.

They don't need to. There's proof he existed as shown in articles from 2021.

Did I say he didn't? You are too eager to jump in with your snarky remarks. Check the edits on that page, they didn't do that for no reason. I'll let you figure out what that reason is.

Wow, they should've just created a fictional character (like every past AC game) instead of trying to race swap characters.

It isn't a race swap.

It isn't a race swap.

That is correct. It's more like a role swap.

You imply he didn't by saying they are editing it to try and prove his existence is accurate.

Methinks the reason is, is that some people cannot accept the truth that he existed. And keep trying to push their agenda.

No I didn't imply that. You assumed that.
