You have to define the question better.

In what sense to you mean "woman"?

It could mean purely visual characteristics or it could mean the innate ability to breed and be with child. Depends on the context.

In that case would a woman who was born without the ability to breed really be called a woman?
Is a hermaphrodite a male or female or both or neither? They are often sterile when born or so I hear. Or is that plants? IDK

This is the biological definition of a woman from Wikipedia

Woman
Female adult human
A woman is an adult female human. Before adulthood, a woman is referred to as a girl. Typically, women are of the female sex and inherit a pair of X chromosomes, one from each parent, and fertile women are capable of pregnancy and giving birth from puberty until menopause.

A woman incapable of breeding is still a woman
Hermaphrodites are a bit a weird topic, allot of it comes down to the severity of it, and gender.
Also, we are talking about biological definitions
that in of itself is not a bad thing. Biological definitions and gender identities are two different things.

In many languages there is no difference between the two in the spoken langauge and that is why there is so much confusion.

Ie. Here female and woman would be the same word. This obviously cause confusion.
In the English language we have both of them and one is much more founded in biology, than the other.

I don't think that is true. A woman is an adult female human. A female can be any species and any age.
