Where should the next Assassin's Creed be set after AC Shadows?
Some ideas:
-Ancient Rome/Persia
-Incas/Aztecs/Mayans

Ubisoft follow the trends.

They only made a game in Japan after many other studios had success with the period.

Don't expect anything original there.

Yeah, I thought it wasn't smart to set it in Japan after 2 games did it already. Ghost of Tsushima and Rise of the Ronin.

Japan has been requested for years, a decade even, there is nothing new in that. It's about finding a period in time with the right type of setting that is interesting enough to tell a story in.

I always hoped for one set during the era when Adam and Eve were starting a rebellion against the Isu. There is not a great deal about that era and yet it's alluded to often.

I'd like to know what it would have been like to see things from back when humanity was still new, only a generation or two in, the Isu settlement's in Africa and Greece, what the Isu were like, how the rebellion started with humanity, and what happened before the Toba incident. i'm also hoping that one character you play survives to the aftermath of the incident with an ending that shows how tough things were back then, watching Atlantis sink into the ocean and still finding the last Isu target and taking them out before the end of the conflict and needing to work together to rebuild.

A good point to introduce Adam, Eve, their Human and Isu parents as well and how the story of the apple got distorted through the 75,000 years of recorded history.

Tsarist Russia, but i hope Ubisoft burns to the ground and its entire legacy with it so nothing remains. They have been a blight on the gaming industry like EA. Ill not even look at Shadows for Ghost of Tsushima is here and so much better.

Kinda want a remake of ac1. Go back to simple assassin and templar.

China and India have a lot of history to play with, but probably won't be appealing to western players.
Ac china is just an online game trash if I remember correctly.

Why wouldn't it be appealing to western players? when i played FC4 a while back the first time, i was hooked and India has a rich history of warfare as well. I think there is a good chance to find a story there.

China could be interesting, but it's about finding the right conflict and point in history to make the story and the character to go with it. China is quite mountainous as well, if the Isu had built an underground compound under those mountains that has since been partially destroyed from tectonic plate movement over the years and a small opening is found to go down and explore in...

They're doing a remake of AC 4 Black Flag I heard. They should do a remake of AC 1 and 2 after that.

It doesn't matter as long as i can't play as a Russian man/woman in some Russian setting, as a Chinese man/woman in some Chinese setting, as a Turkish man/woman in some Turkic setting, as a Japanese man/woman in a Samurai setting.

FC4 is an entirely fictional country though, just have Tibetan theme.

As I see it, historical games are appealing when player have some knowledge about that moment in history. You know some key figures and important events, and want to see how devs will interpret them.
China and India have a lot to play, but most western players are not really familiar with their history.

They also a lot more conservative. Use their historical figures inappropriately (like, being a villain) may result in serious backlash.
