best music to listen to when playing games

hey gamers. If the game or games what you play don't have much of a music track or you don't like to listen to the games music, what music do you listen to? genre/songs/whatever it is? just curious.

You will have to specify the game's genre.

If I ever listen to some music while playing, then it's only while playing some FPS like Valorant, and the music has to be somewhat calming or barely audible, so I can still make out of what I hear in-game, listening to both sources of sound at the same time.
Mainly staying focused on what's in the game, and then mostly subconsciously taking in what the music offers (usually some instrumental pieces).

As for those instrumental tracks.. Those do tend to be tracks that I know from visual novels, or instrumental versions of other tracks - Of rap tracks, of pop tracks, (...).
As long as I know the track, but I require to have it no lyrics, so there's no huge interruption towards my focus while playing the FPS; It does serve as a way to calm myself down, possibly to focus even better onto the in-game things.

An example could be the entire soundtrack of space music from Space Rangers by 1C Company. Those tracks are so good!..
Or even instrumental versions of tracks like Role Model by Eminem, (...). Tons of possibilities.

Music without vocals is nice, Buckethead is a good one I use a lot. Not a lot of vocals, usually just instruments/guitars.

Other than that, anything rock/metal is pretty good for background noise.

Music from other games is nice too, despite most of the music being "okay" or very in-one-ear-out-the-other, Touhou music is great background noise to just have as filler but not something you're humming to

Playing Chivalry 2, Lord of the Rings soundtrack. That actually meshed with the game perfectly.

Used to play Robocop vs The Terminator with Megadeth albums going, and it fit the game really well. It helped that you could turn off the music in the game options.

One of the 3rd party sites associated with Elite Dangerous hosts "radio stations" to be played alongside the game, with one in particular that even has ED-themed commercial breaks and news broadcasts (it plays almost nothing but techno music, and I hate techno, but it does fit the game well enough).

Depends on the game, when playing some fighting game then music with lyrics mostly rock, when playing something like vermintide or deep rock galactic then wind rose.

If its anything that i might want to focus on then metal without vocals.

I'm usually watching something on a second screen, not playing music.

The last time I played music over a game intentionally was like, the early 2000's when I used to blast Rob Zombie while playing Diablo 2's online ladder mode. Good music to smash hordes to.
