What finger do you use to press shift?
I personally use my middle or index finger and rarely my ring finger but most common is index finger.

Pinky if it's a tap, otherwise I use the finger next to it

Pinky if I'm gaming.

Thumb if I'm typing.
Pinky.

Yeah, Midori, I put my hand along the left side of my keyboard and press the shift key with my thumb on that hand. Most of my typing is done with my right hand, and a few keys with my left index finger -- basically as far as QWE, ASD, and ZXC.

I was not classically trained as a typist. But I get by. :amadeus_happy:

depends what I am doing.. if gaming.. my keyboard is shoved away.. my mouse in front.. and I generally will when I need to press a key...with middle finger...

if typing both hands will be on the keyboard, and I will press the shiftkeys with my pinky or ringfinger

I replaced every key on my keyboard with shift.

It all depends on what I am doing. Mostly I use my pinky finger to shift to upper case letters when typing just text.

Left pinky only. I never use the right shift. I still type around 80 nwpm.

I have literally never used these keys on the right side -- shift, alt, ctrl, WinKey, or that strange menu key between shift and WnKey.

I have also never once used Scr Lk, or Pause. :stray_robot:

err how do you leave a game or program to returnm backl to windows while it remains active in background with 1 key.. other than the windows key?

programs that not want to be minimined otherway...

and the pauze button is the fastest way to pauze most games...

Dutch -- the ones on the right side, I said.

Alt+F4 on the LEFT side (with my right thumb and middle finger) for exiting a program.

WinKey+D for new desktop (same fingers) on the LEFT side. (Works best when ALT-TAB doesn't work.)

WinKey+ Arrows to switch between desktops, or WinKey+F4 to close current extra desktop.

WAIT WHAT

The Pause key (above my PgUp key) actually PAUSES GAMES?

What sorcery is this? :steamhappy:

. . . there's a Pause button?
(above my PgUp key)

Ah. On my keyboard, that's F16. And I don't think I've ever used any of the keys in that block in the first place (home, pageup, pagedown, etc).

As for Shift. . . I had to test to figure it out, but for typing I use my left ring finger. Not sure about gaming, I'd have to run a game that uses Shift a bunch to remember what my muscle memory is for that kind of thing. (honestly have no idea, I don't consciously think about these things. It's all habit at this point.)

Back when I took typing in high school, we were taught to use the pinky of the opposite hand depending on which side of the keyboard the capital letter was from. Anything on the side of ASDF would be the right pinky and JKL; would be the left pinky.
