Young men are turning their backs on jobs in the U.S.

Why do you think this is happening? I think that things are less affordable than in the past and less people are getting married/having kids. Also, people would rather be streamers/youtubers or start their own businesses.

depends on the job
No point in working when everything is unaffordable.

Youtube videos are to reinforce what you already believe, they do not always represent reality.

There isn't much of an incentive for young men (Gen Z) to work when things like rent and houses are expensive plus trying to date/get married today is a mess. Also, A.I. is starting to take jobs.
is this the "joke in the box" guy pretending to be a woman

Also, Gen Z men are getting screwed by the US government. Illegals are receiving $3K a month, free medical assistance, free housing, and two hot meals per day for doing literally nothing.

I know this for a fact because I speak Spanish and I know two illegal migrants.

What happens when A.I. replaces jobs? The U.S. needs a universal income system.

They said that computers would replace workers and give people much more time to follow leisure activities. They were wrong about that. No reason to suppose they aren't wrong about AI too...

It is global really. Here in the UK alot of people have been on benefits since Covid ( welfare in us terms ) and found it easier not to do anything. It is also common of this generation with women retracting their right to work because they are lazy, men because the jobs are either menial or wont pay enough. It is rare to find a good paying job or rare to find a great employee that is loyal and not lazy. My employees get paid £5000 ish ( $6400) a month a job they will never leave because you wont find better.
People are always talking about AI taking over and yes it will I already have one replacing the financial officer of all 5 companies because without the human factor AI wont skim off the top.

They almost never represent reality. Telling reality does not get clicks. No clicks and they don't make money. So they make everything into a drama and/or outrage.

I think COVID had a big effect on world mental health. The fact is a lot of young people (Gen Z and Millennials) don't want to work the regular 9-5 job. I think it's this generation and technology playing a role.

I think most young people don't enjoy working. Millennials and Gen Z are evidence of this fact.

I don't know much about U.S. employment rates but I can see why this "could" be a thing. The workforce is a tiresome lifestyle for many and some people just want to enjoy life despite not gaining money.

The other thought is that many newer generations find other avenues to generate income such as society media, technology, online business and finding niche markets.

I'm China, it was a big thing that people didn't understand why they didn't to work so much instead of enjoying life and/or simply giving up.
