Minimum wage did.
What planet do you live on? No it didn't.

2007 minimum wage was 8 dollars, now its 17 dollars. Thats not even 20 years and minimum wage more than doubled.

minimumwage ;
in 2004 8.63/hour
in 2024 13.68/hour
58.5% increase over 20 years.

big mac (burger only no menu)
in 2004 2.45
in 2024 6.85
180% increase over 20 years.

so prices of mcd burgers have risen 3 times faster than the wages they pay.

in the netherlands prices in euro.

McDonald's doesn't sit well with me often so I usually avoid it. Maybe I'll get their breakfast stuff once in a blue moon at most.

McDonalds Ruined their Menu in 1991 Maybe...
Mc Donalds got more Expensive in like 1995,
which made Mc Donalds Food no longer worth it...

In 2018 Or so, Mc Doanlds Started Selling Gross Arzs Burgers...

Mc Donalds then ruined their Food in 2020,
& Destroyed everything that made Mc Donalds good...

In 2024, People still flood to eat there... Why??

I Don't Get What Is Sooo Magical About Mc Donalds Today In 2024??

In 1980's, Mc Donalds has such great Food for cheap Prices in Fast Food...
Today, In 2024, Mc Donalds Food Is Gross...

What compells People to still eat there??

Cool graph but we are talking about mcdonalds in this thread...

In may 2008 average cost of a big mac was $3.21. The current average price of a big mac is 5.69. According to that big mac website thing.

So basic math tells me the minimum wage was more than doubled and the cost of a big mac has less than doubled. Therefore a big mac costs less today than it did it 2008 with prices adjusted for inflation according to my local minimum wage rates.

Im going by minimum wage rates where i live. Yeah, maybe where you live its different. You should lobby your state or provincial government to increase minimum wage according to inflation if its a problem where you live.

Also, all this information is easily googled. I live in ontario canada for reference if you think im bullshitting. You can google this info yourself.

Edit: bullshitting isnt a censored word here, who knew?

This is a valid point too but considering the quarter pounder is a quarter pound still to this day, i think its somewhat safe to assume shrinkflation hasnt affected mcdonalds products much. It is an assumption based on one menu item so i could be wrong.

They only really have good Coffee. The Food tastes bad. The French Fries used to be very good but these days their nothing special and taste bland.

For the price I can go to a Family owned Restaurant and get a bigger Meal and can ask for my Burger to be cooked to Medium or whatever I feel like at the moment.

Look up "federal minimum wage in the USA" without the quotes. It has been $7.25 since 2009, BEFORE inflation, that is 15 years of stagnation. Compare that with inflation and it become even worse.

All fast food across the board has gone to ♥♥♥♥. It used to be cheap and tasted good, but now it's expensive and the ingredients have been downgraded even more.

to earlier question to Dutchgamer, there is little / nominal difference in the Big Macs since the 1980s and 2020s according to factchecker site

Sounds like a you problem... Lobby your government for higher minimum wage but it sounds like that is moreso the states job and federal minimum wage is more of an absolute minimum for the whole country.

The majority of states (30) dont use federal minimum wage and use their own so your argument is kind of misleading and a bit in bad faith.

Where i live, mcdonalds is cheaper today than it was in 2007. Pound for pound.
