100% facts. As soon as i saw the name i was like '"why are you humoring this poster". lol
If the OP says red, they will argue blue.
If you defend green, they will fight for yellow.
Some people are here just to 'stir the pot'. nothing more.
gl out there .. lol
The early viewers that saw the first 4 episodes have never seen E5.
3.3 rating at IMDb and 13% audience score at rottentomatoes
Indeed its not particular liked, even by the mainstream.
It is like Headland tried to cater to the wrong target audience... but well.
As you might see however, we do have people in this thread that think the series is good or even one of the best SW series, so the target audience do exist, it just don´t seem like they are alot.
"Woke" doesn't encourage people to be their best.
They have this idea of what they want to inject into the storyline and very often it has nothing to do with the original creation and they aren't skilled in general and aren't able to inject it into the storyline and we get crap. Good writers probably wouldn't make the blunder to begin with but they could turns Lesbian Space Witches that Birthed the Force into something good.
** I bet you could create an alternative thread to this one thinking up how to improve the storyline and end up getting Steam members who could write better then what we're seeing.
Nor do I
But disregarding those sites is also ilogical.. if we look on the internet and ask people around us, you will notice that you are a minority in liking the show.. its not some made up hatred or anything (I don´t hate it, I just don´t think its a well written series)
While Amazon do own IMDB now, they are ie. considered a very reliable source of information for both critics or users, but ofc.. since its open source..
I am yet to meet anyone in real life that watch the Acolyte and think its great.
The vast majority of people will ask "what is that" and the SW fans (work/family/friends) have said they wont touch it.. Its funny because many of the younger (these are still ie. in their 30´s) will tell me that a show such as Ahsoka is decent (not great) Andor is always put a tad above, as just above it, but still not great.
People often do get more critical when IP´s are mass spammed into different directions, we see this with Marvel content as well, so we have to take that into account.
The force has been reduced to that? Geez. The force is supposed be an analogy for the dangers of containing male energy until it snaps. That's why SW had so many male fans, it tapped into a condition males have so few words for, like the effects of militarism on the male psyche. Lucas knew very well what he was doing when he wrote SW, and it's a bad move to steal from people their own particular stories to help them understand themselves.
George Lucas was influenced by mythological storytelling and Joseph Campbell's "The Hero with a Thousand Faces." Lucas aimed to create a modern myth that would resonate with contemporary audiences, particularly young men.
However, that was the original Star Wars.
The story arcs have extended far beyond that now and examined topics ranging from political corruption to philosophical concepts.
