The Acolyte (Cancelled) - A new low for Star Wars?

The new Acolyte series is out now (with two episodes) and the reception have been lukewarm so far. Currently it is sitting at 4.9 stars on IMDB

I am sure that Amazon (whom owns IMDB) will remove many reviews, but it still seems like most "fans" dislike the new approach that was tried with this new series.
The series is created by Leslye Headland, whom is well know for controversial talks about what they think SW fans are and that they want a new fanbase.

Their approach to me would be the same if you tried to sell boats in Nepal, insisting that even if there is no need or demand for it, then the Nepalese would just be discriminative or bigots, if they did not buy said boats....... seems really odd.

Personally I don´t think there is anything wrong with the series outside what looks like a lack of demand. It does seem like many reviews are genuine and that the story, characters and so forth feel pretty flat and uninteresting. I fully respect people that might like this, but I think its far away from classic SW lore.

Star Wars can now have not just sex but gay sex, without actually having sex.

Andor and Rogue One were fairly watchable- the rest is highly polished turds... like the movie version of AAA games but also "family friendly". It's like vomit without the ugliness of actual vomit.

39% rating by viewers, unless that has changed in the past few hours. That makes it the lowest rated show or movie in the franchise's history. I heard that the sets and music were very good.

Disney is doing what they've been doing ever since 'Captain Marvel'. Making products no one wants or asked for.

Feel free to make all the movies and shows you want that celebrate diversity and slam men. But don't slap 'Star Wars' (or Marvel) on it and expect all fans to like it.

Also, don't do interviews saying that everyone that doesn't like your work is racist/misogynistic. You're being judged by the quality of your work. It has very little to do with the gender/sexuality/race of the characters. Unless you go out of your way to exclude the ONE COMBINATION that represents most of the fanbase. Then expect the fandom menace to come for you.
