Favourite horror game of all time?
I have to go with Silent Hill 2, but the original Resident Evil is a close second. What's your favourite horror game, whether it's a modern, retro, indie, or AAA title? I want to hear 'em all.

As a bonus, any recommendations for horror games that you loved, but are largely under the radar/underappreciated?

resident evil 2. not because it's scary. but because it's so damn addicting. what's actually scary (and most of the times it works) when you are out of your control rather than anything spooky.

to clarify, i'm talking about the remake

Alien Isolation. Beautiful graphics for the time, stunning AI, and masterful level design. It's a timeless classic that will surely be remembered even 30 years from now.

I hesitate to mention that one game... because it's honestly psychologically disturbing.

Resident Evil Remake, followed closely by The Evil Within 1.

Nothing too mysterious or anything it's a well known horror title, probably included on most best/scary horror game lists if you're inclined to find it yourself, I hesitate to recommend.

Still have to go with Fear 1, the action and horror combination in that game was almost perfect

Manhunt? Or that one other game about a dude in a very bizarre yet hellish island.

Silent Hill because of the effect it had on me after I first played it.

So Silent Hill comes out on the Playstation and the graphics were pretty new to me still on the PS1 (as deprived as we were back in those days).

Now I was one tough sod and had various work in security.
After I bought Silent Hill played it on the Friday or Saturday I bought it and thought yep that is a creepy game with the radio and the snow fall and the rest of it.

On the way to the pub I walked and as usual taking the back roads.
I can say I looked behind me a few times . Now it seems silly but at the time for me that was creepy stuff.

Dead By Daylight. It might be the greatest horror game ever because it makes you feel true agony :WH3_greasus_rofl:

Siren (also called Forbidden Siren in PAL regions)

That's a bit too difficult question to ask..

Dead by Daylight is a horror videogame, but .. No longer for me. I don't count this one amongst the many horror ones I have touched.
So, my pick has to go towards the retro quality one, called Area 51 by 1C Company. Has to.
- I'm blinded by nostalgia;
- It's actually really scary. It doesn't rely on some cheap intense volume increases as most horror videogames rely on nowadays, but on the scary atmosphere. It's there.. I don't know how to explain it.

Resident Evil: Village would've been worth mentioning, if it weren't for the minimap and other helpful tools.
Without them, without HUD.. Maybe, otherwise no.
