Unalive... 😵
Is anyone else super triggered by this word? Like I nearly had a panic attack just writing it here, I really think they should change it to something else so that I can stop being triggered! I promise I wont be triggered by the next word though, like I know I can handle it as long as it's not triggering I wont be triggered you just need to find a word that doesn't trigger me ok? It's up to you to prevent me from being triggered.

Unalive is just a term used to bypass word filters and censors on other sites.

I wonder how lame English will become over the next 40 years.
Yesterday I saw a post in which the word “obese” was censored with a red line over it.

What the ♥♥♥♥ are we doing on this planet, anymore. Now the term obese is an offensive word? Are you serious?

I've never heard of that word used really, it had always been "dead", "deceased" or "not alive".
“Unalive” is most commonly used by YouTubers in their videos, because apparently the platform doesn’t like you using naughty little words like “death” or “dead”, anymore.

We gotta make the site kid- and advertiser-friendly, even though YouTube has a minimum age requirement of 13 and there is literally separate app designed specifically to filter out content for children that the company just blatantly ignores the existence of constantly.

I've been told to unalive myself over 100 times. I am immune to that word.

"Euphemism Treadmill"

It's not lame. It just is. In the sense that Mt. Everest is. Or Alma Cogan isn't.
Not sure but I think people started using this word because suicide gets censored in some platforms, or may lead to bans etc.
Does the word annoy me? Yep

Does it annoy me more than people lightheartedly throw around the words anxiety / panic attacks for anything and everything? Yep

It is more likely they have a psychologist advising them to do things in a consulting role to try and steer things a particular way.

Advertisers really don't give a damn, their job is to shock and make you recall the product/service, which is flaky art at the best of times. Lots of ads have been banned because they were too "shocking/provocative" etc.

Big corporations really don't care, they are only concerned with legal blow back (fines/lawsuits), hence all their PR and HR departments, if they are big enough to afford/need those. What ever gets them the most money is all they care about.

Think of the children, is a bunch of political malarkey, a dog whistle, they are obsessed with children, just not in the pedo way. Mostly its worthless drama that actually makes it worse for the children, but that is another topic.

So its more likely some "good intentions" think tank type consultant who has utilized some kind of psychology/wording non sense to promote a change, based on quack science, to enable some political hack to be seen as having done something, "to save the children".

After all there is a rather large group of people who believe/know that, if they don't know about it, they won't be able to do it, but anyone attached to reality knows that's just idiotic. But idiots are idiots so... everyone gets to suffer.

Which is kind of funny, as there is another large group that insists everyone knows about (what ever topic), a bit like whole drama around trans stuff that blew up recently. Or prior to that how everyone is autistic, on the spectrum and all the mental health stuff or...

Youtube and stuff like social media is a wonderful research playground for all sorts of non professionals as well as professionals.

Maybe one day they'll invent their human reprogramming software and finally be able to mind jack everyone, the mad scientist control freak sci-fi stuff.

Good old paranoia, what would the world be like without you.

There's not much in my head worth discussing anyways.
