The New Assassins Creed games are bad.

I cannot stand the new style of the AC games.. The new jump to action RPG like gameplay was a terrible idea imo for the franchise. I am supposed to be an assassin, someone who has to sneak around more, and do stealth missions, ect. This new idea that i am a warrior instead now, and to take out enemies i have to hit them 20 times in the face, or do some stupid ability that breaks immersion because they are so ridiculous. I know the old games combat could of been more difficult, and better, but i actually felt like an awesome assassin, meant to sneak past enemies and get to the target. Now i just feel like some brainless warrior hacknslashing away at everything and having find run away from enemies because they have some made up level, and are too strong to touch. It so lame imo. Last good AC game to me is Black Flag, tho it was action i still felt more assassin like. I played all of them, and finishing up Valhalla now. Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla are at the bottom of my fav AC games.

And then that whole franchise was bottom of the barrel until black flag, and honestly I consider origins and odyssey the best ones, where the franchise is actually good now.

Its just a generic RPG with leveling and loot.. Like 1000s of games already like that. x) None of the new games special, and dont deserve the AC name tbh. They could be called something else and it would be alright since they could be any other franchise. AC before these were fantastic, and what grew the franchise to begin with. Black FLag was still very much like the old ones, outside ship battles. But hey opinions.

I never felt awesome playing that, and coudn't really identify with the main character. I didn't thought it was bad. It didn't crashed or anything. Its just not my cup of tea. It looked nice, and performed terribly on my hardware. As in: really low frame rates. Even though I had quite a decent system, considering when it was released.

I already thought the old was so, so... So... I didn't really thought it to be a technical highlight, in regard to how it performed, and it didn't supported all aspect ratios, but instead showed black bars at the top and bottom of the display, and we still want good frame rates and full screen.

Maybe if they remake the original, and have it perform better on other hardware, I would be more interested in this game. I can't get into something, if I can't get decent frame rates. I yes, I had multiple central processing unit cores. Even more than two. So that wasn't it.

I couldn't find any reason why that game engine was performing so poorly, compared to other engines.

IDK I played the first one and I don't recall being able to take down templars in one swift move. I seem to remember trying to fight 2 was a challenge and if a 3rd showed up you had to run.

I beat the very first one. I thought that was a bit copy/paste, but a nice tech demo of better things to come. I tried four more even the much recommended Black Flag. AC is not my thing for sure.

Yeah I'm not really a fan of AC games. I liked Origins for the Egyptian theme but that's the only reason I liked it. The game itself was kinda meh but exploring ancient egypt and seeing a representation of the culture and stuff is what I really enjoyed about it.

Almost my thoughts exactly, except I kinda liked AC: Brotherhood.

I can feel how you feel. Same (if not worse) happened to Need For Speed Franchise. I guess when a franchise get BIG enough and get known internationally, some CORE elements of that franchise get neglected for future games. Every franchise face this when they get BIG enough though some are affected not too much such as Mortal Kombat. NetherRealm Studios even released a character pack that makes 3 chars sound and seem exactly like the 1995 MK movie which was a very nice decision. This can be seen in the reviews of that DLC.

I prefer the pre origins games. Loved the social stealth and whole assassin thing.

They can make the gameplay smoother, and combat better but have it be more stealth, and assassins focused... since ya know... ASSASSINS Creed. Climbing, and such is still clunky in new games too. Also get rid of abilities bs, and loot.

Assassin's Creed franchise was dying, changing into an RPG saved the franchise. Don't know about Valhalla because it's not on steam, but Origins and Odyssey is the best selling AC games on steam in the franchise. Go to the steam store page and notice the amounts of reviews Odyssey and Origins got, they have WAY more reviews than all other AC game combined.

You can go with TOTALLY stealthy approach in all of those games with 1 shot kill. Just don't go to an area of higher level enemies when your own level is low. Visit them later.

Don´t you mean that most of them (even the original) was kinda.. meh.. I guess the first one could be considered decent.. but well.. a matter of the eyes viewing.
