Depressing answer: real life.
More serious answer:
I always stop playing games & the inevitability of death means that there is nothing that I cannot stop playing, whether I like it or not.
Anyways, I have over a 1000 hours in: Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Terraria, Miiverse, & probably some other things too, like Mario Paint & Tetris, but those were in a time before our consoles tracked our play-time.
I always come back to Tetris... eventually, & it looks like Terraria will fall into that category too but that's yet to be seen.
Other games that I didn't, don't, & won't play for nearly as long, but keep coming back to:
Zelda: Majora's Mask, Zelda: A Link to the Past, Final Fantasy VI, Kirby Superstar (multiplayer), Undertale, Mario Vs Donkey Kong flash mini-game (from the official website), Super Mario RPG
...and with newer titles, where it's a little too soon, but hold the promise of me potentially coming back to revisit many times:
Snakebird, "Baba Is You", Within a Rose, Kirby Battle Royale (if I can get 3 more copies & 3 more friends
Game soundtracks that I keep returning to (well, all of them but these ones stand out, in particular):
Pokemon Diamond / Pearl soundtrack, Donkey Kong 64 soundtrack, Super Paper Mario, Super Mario RPG, Kirby's Dreamland 3 (even though I didn't actually play the game), & several others - these are just the most notable ones that came to mind right away.
I don't know if I will ever play vanilla Slyrim again after Skyblivion will be released. I think probably not. But for now Skyrim is more enjoyable and for sure it is addicting
I have the original release version, directors cut version and also the sound track audio cds with limited edition box.
Other games I have played many times and always go back to will include
Suikoden III
Radiata Stories
Zone of the Enders
Star Ocean - The Last Hope
Black Desert
Need for Speed Rivals
DooM - evergreen FPS classic, modding scene is huge
Quake II - a lot like DooM but more multi-player oriented, never gets old to me
Counter-Strike - it's addictive and base formula stayed unchanged since the very first versions
Mortal Kombat II - I played it as a kid and I still am playing it, we can add the MUGEN stuff in here too
Street Fighter II - another game I just can't get bored of, they nailed everything good about fighting games in it
I love to revisit various other DOS, Windows 98, NES, SNES, Mega Drive, N64 games too.
