My phone won't charge (please help)

Hi all, I have a Motorola G5, which refuses to charge.

The battery recently depleted to 0% and I plugged it in to the charger but it won't charge. There's an exclamation mark that says the battery power is at 0%. It's remained like this for 3 hours now.

From your experience, do you think I need a new battery? Or a new charging cable? New phone?

the cellphone repair store usually has power cord for every kind of cell ever made, even those earlier 1980's phones, I bought a recharge cord for $15 CAD a couple years ago

most small city's have some sort of cellphone repair store

Definitely try another charging cable from a friend before you do anything else.

I had a faulty wire in one of my chargers, seemingly randomly stopping the charge process.

I've had port issues with my phone a ton, which is why I mostly wireless charge it now.

But my charging port really needs a needle to clean it out, so you might have to go thinner than a toothpick.

either your battery phone is really bad, or the charging port is extremely bad, or charger is bad.
start with baby steps,
1- change the cable if the cable is fine try swapping the charger, maybe let your phone charge in one of 5v USB pc ports
2- check battery health, if the battery voltage is extreme down try to change it with new one.
3- check micro-b port, if the charging port is bad it will cause the phone to not charge properly.
4- if the phone has to many issues, just don't bother yourself and buy new one. I advice you into buying realme gt neo 6 se it is like 300$ and has everything you can ask for, you can buy it from aliexpress, ask the buyer for unlocked version or just buy realme gt neo 6t which is the global version that will drop soon.
