Multiplayer FPS are also really taxing on the emotional department, mostly the frustration part.
What is the reason you can't play games?
I noticed that. Also, when I was younger I could get more angry over something. For example losing to someone. I never get to that point to be shouting etc. Now I don't react to such things. If I loose to someone, I stay calm
That's only if I sweat it and wanna perform up to my limits, though.. If I just let things go and enjoy playing the game without caring about losing, my performance drops by more than an entire half due to the loss of created opportunities by trying hard, otherwise the effectivity drops by about ~40% or less.
And what's more, the only satisfaction upon being competitive is from victories or learning new things.. Otherwise, it's a plain dissatisfaction and sometimes even a loss of positive mood to neutral-negative one.
That reminds me..
There are times when I'm really tired but can't allow to get some sleep yet, and.. If I know what to reply to the topic, then the words just fly. Naturally.. I don't even think that much about them resulting in contradictions from time to time, but when I think about what I'm typing down, like now for example.. The words do come out a lot less naturally and at a slower pace, but at least I'm actually enjoying myself and am aware of what I'm replying with as opposed to whenever feelin' sleepy.
As for casual and non-competitive gaming, including multiplayer FPS.. Then I can't keep for more than five hours fairly frequently.
If you woulda been curious.. Yes, I'm younger than you, somewhere between twenties and thirties.
My husband has always been a gamer and I've spent a lot of time playing games with him, but as we've both gotten older we've slowed down a lot on that. I always preferred more casual games but my husband was always really into competitive games and shooters but his own tastes have changed more recently to be like mine. When you get older sometimes your tastes just change or you don't have the same energy for the things you used to.
Very similar thing happens to me. If I will push myself to the limits and if I do, I know I will succeed in the game match but Im going to drain my battery a lot. If I would play constantly as you described on the limit pushing myself. I could last maybe max up to 3h.
On my uplay acc I played the division 1 game a while back. I played total for about 2000 hours. Mostly 90% pvp (dark zone, last stand). I could do it from the morning till evening. It is quite intense game when your squad 4 people fighting against 10+ people in dark zone. Now simply I couldn't do that
This is why I made this topic to ask if people experience same problem as me. Looks like I'm not alone
Completely agree 👍
