[ORIGINALITY] Anyone else seeing the death of creativity?
You can apply this to about all mediums; it feels like everything has been done. Maybe it's because we're overstimulated in the screen age- every single colour we can see at our fingertips, anything you can imagine can also be near immediately seen if you have the internet, it feels like all possible combinations of things have already been done. Food, music, art, movies, TV shows, video-games... I really can't fathom any unique combination of these things that there's not a pre-existing example of, or just a clear merger of two ideas that barely forms some semblance of a "new" idea.

Uh, no. To both of those statements. Are you from the future?

The AI we have now is still just language models trained on millions upon millions of datasets. It's not "fundamentally an intelligence," it's still ultimately a computer program and you still need to feed it prompts for it to then generate something based on millions of data points it's been fed. It cannot think for itself at this point nor understand human behavior or "make" decisions.

Keep thinking that- it's naive at best.

You've clearly only seen the public-facing interfaces that want to give you a false sense of security. There's plenty of autonomous AI's that already exist, capable of self-prompting; an apparatus we'd call "thought" but you don't hear about those because it's unsettling to know we're just biological machines
Uh huh. Well, can you provide some evidence of your statement?

even this I don't find all that exciting- so what? It's another FPS clone but with added motion-sickness- this isn't a new concept, it's a new camera-angle

The ultra REALISTIC GRAPHICS! Did you (manually) set the video quality to 1440p?

Now imagine someone else doing this with other genres like Fighting Games, Racing Games, etc...

beavis and butthead. chip and dale rescue rangers. :steammocking:

i dont even get excited anymore when i see my classics being remade. darkwing duck is even being redone.

woohoo dont care im sure it will be trash. :steamsad:

literally- they've just given up; genuinely selling "Remastered!" attached to old game titles- CoD is a good example. Are remasters the new "creativity"? Garbage 'multiverse' reboots like they did with Spider-Man? They strip the original plot, keep the same placeholder character, and throw them in different timelines? Doesn't sound like anything I'm excited for to be honest

All the AI that is currently out there is weak AI.

Strong AI (artificial general intelligence, AGI) does not exist.

Elation is right.

I say this as someone who's taken AI courses in the university but feel free to google weak and strong AI if you don't believe people on the forums.

You clearly lack understanding of how those companies operate. Nothing is in the cloud- nothing is connected to a network. Any actual information in places like Nvidia are vaulted beyond your wildest dreams. Keycards, checkpoints, USB decryption keys, so many literal and virtual firewalls that all of the data is kept in. There's plenty of articles of militaries around the world already using this tech to automate killing machines.

Autonomous AI driven systems are already being used in international conflicts- to kill people. It'd be silly for you to think it's not capable of filling in the gaps of creativity by using deduction.

inputting more information about your life, or where you sourced your ideas from, isn't going to increase my ability to understand you.

only a discrete explanation that exactly fits my preferences and modality will ever cause even the minimum amount of consideration,

and I have no particular reason to do anything but reject you and maintain my internal cohesion.

Right.. if it isn't public, how do you know it exists?

Regarding your earlier post, why are you talking about keycards and USB encryption?
Encryption mechanisms and keycards have existed for decades.

Probably the most random thing you could mention in this context.

Do you need to be spoon-fed? It's not random- it's relevant to why there haven't been any data leaks. All of the data is securely encrypted and their keys are all constantly being monitored with geo-location that bricks the keys if they leave a certain vicinity from home. You can't even fathom how tightly locked the data is. Every key needs to be authorised for a single-use decryption procedure. Your person is literally air-locked into these facilities while reviewing any and all sensitive information. It's why there haven't been whistle-blowers with data- it's simply unattainable with the current system and regulations in place.

You already said you won't read- I have no more interest talking to you, or feeding your craving for negative attention. I won't be responding to you anymore.

there'll always be creative boom bust cycles.

I know people have their disagreements with artifical intelligence and AI art but some of it is genuinely interesting.

i've gotten obsessed with these AI art videos.

I am merely educating you regarding the realities of ai oversight.

by your own admission the proceedures for control and abation have already passed, and we live in a post-AI world.

you're arguing with the wind my firned.
