Is it me, or are there more posts lately on social media, that constantly seem to try to make a point about women's safety and how men as a collective are responsible, and that any time ANY man complains, they are seen as "part of the problem" and the reason for said women needing to be safe in the first place? I don't get how the average man is somehow responsible for what a murderer or rapist would do.

It's not like black people go around blaming white people in general for the racists or the cops who shoot black people on sight. It's understood that it's certainly a social problem, that requires systemic change, but that does NOT mean that somehow an entire gender or race has a "collective responsibility" to change the behavior of BAD PEOPLE. THAT'S WHY THEY'RE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ BAD PEOPLE IN THE FIRST PLACE! THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT BEING GOOD OR DOING THE RIGHT THING!!

The only thing these stupid memes ever accomplish is dividing men and women based on the behaviors of IMMORAL and SOCIOPATHIC individuals. Yes, let's blame "all men" and "all white people" for all the immoral scum of society because we apparently haven't done enough as a collective in order to somehow "fix" the problematic elements.

Last I checked, no one was being blamed for social failures and that they failed to do their "collective duty" to make everyone a more "moral and decent" human being. Personal accountability. The ONLY person you're responsible for is YOURSELF. I'm tired of this "victim-hood mentality BS" that I think a lot of people are starting to get aggravated by. But I am curious what everyone else thinks.

Honestly, I feel like the issue is how often people confuse coping and mocking for comedy. If a woman had a bad experience with men, she can make a joke that simply highlights it as a societal problem, or she can insult half the audience because she's bitter and doesn't know how to use humor properly to talk about her experience or women's experience in general without being insulting. Basically, punching down vs punching up.

And part of ANY humor is that you have to be able to make OTHER people laugh, not just yourself or only people like you. It's the difference between having a laugh with someone vs having a laugh AT someone's expense. If Katt Williams makes a joke about white people that even white people in the audience can laugh at, that's funny. If he makes a joke that only BLACK people laugh at, that's bad comedy and simply offensive.

I mean, good comedy itself these days isn't so common and hard to find. So I think any comedy that actually manages to make both sides laugh makes more progress by at least getting people to listen.

Because if it offends people instead, then people shut off their ears and brains and don't care what you have to say afterwards anyway. Both male and female comedians have probably made more progress in uniting the sexes than any stupid misogyny or misandry memes on the Internet.

I grew up in the 80's and back them comedy was real comedy, were every race, every colour, every sex and everything was made fun off. Now comedy has one hand tired behind it's back and this has made comedy boring. Can't even joke about anything anymore, we looking more like the old ussr everyday.
