Nintendo's been in the habit of only making announcements within 6 months of release or so for awhile now.
It will likely be like the Switch OLED with a boosted 120Hz refresh rate and up to 4k output for external displays. Juiced with a much more powerful processor.
A new Mario game will also be released upon the Switch 2, developed upon the Unreal engine. It will be the most expensive game Nintendo has produced yet.
Also, a Final Fantasy 7 remake will look and run like a PS5 game upon the Switch 2.
The Bayonetta Trilogy is also likely to be released upon the Switch 2.
You get new games the previous generation can't handle, but it's also backward compatible to play the older titles too.
lmao Switch 2 will be like PS5. Okay dude. Im not a fanboy, but that's mental.
Source from known video game leaker "I'm a Hero Too"
Square Enix has a Nintendo Switch 2 developer kit for a while now and bring back Final Fantasy VII Remake to the upcoming system.
Confirms that it's verified backwards compatible with a few games tested.
The console has newer cartridges, which are presumably bigger.
The system also has a new camera feature.
Quote: (Final Fantasy VII Remake) "looks and runs like a PS5 game on Switch 2 devkit" and that the "port took no time I'm told. Could be a launch game, not sure."
The post was later removed however. So take it with a grain of salt, yet that's what I've heard and know he's an actual valid source.
Note: He's probably referring to it looking like PS5 when outputted to a 4K TV. You can consider the OLED display to look similar or better than the OLED Switch already available but with double the refresh rate (120Hz).
Here's my rebuttal.
It's Nintendo, control your frothing loins. It will probably be "Adequate."
The "Nintendo Switch – OLED Model 2023" is already a seriously nice looking display with some performance behind it. The Switch 2 will at least top that.
If you haven't noticed the Switch has multiple versions released 2021 edition, 2022 edition and 2023 edition of just the OLED version.
Look at me in the eyes.
I top MEN. This is beneath my performance value.
