Anyone Else Notice That Bread Never Gets Mouldy Anymore?
All you gross Europeans are excused from answering as this thread is for us normal Americans that eat stuff like probably pesticide chemical preservatives.

I know it's been a long time now, but when did this start being a thing? Because pretty much my entire life up until not too long ago, bread got mouldy after it's "sell by" date. This literally doesn't happen anymore. Bread products now last like a month past, and still don't get mouldy.

Gross European bread, however, becomes mouldy.

This OP, it might a case corporate mass produced bread with FDA knows how many several amount of preservatives vs local bakery bread that still do gets mold.

I never really thought most people go to the bakery to get bread. I feel most people locally where I live just go to a grocery store.

Our grocery stores have a "bakery" section (like where you get custom cakes, etc) that put out 'fresh' rolls/breads/donuts.

OP selectively answers/replies :-/

I'm just being honest here. What is the point of a discussion if OP's are going to ignore some perfectly legit replies?

You're right, I do. I'm content with people expressing their opinions, and having them. So I'm not always going to take the time to break down whether I think someone is wrong or not. I think your last response was telling me that there are thousands of bread recipes, and that I can't compare two breads, then generalize.

Basically, I assume you mean that anecdotal evidence isn't enough to draw a conclusion for everyone. Sounds like a fine opinion to me. My take on that is that is what threads like this are for, to learn. I would be ignorant forever if I did not make threads like this. Discussions aren't just for the OP, either, they are for everyone. I don't need to reply to everyone.

nahh, some breads do still get moldy, and quick.. "Bunny Bread" is cheap dirty unhealthy junk.

What is Bunny Bread? The new American thing is to keep bread in the fridge... Mostly because it's gross and you only eat it if you have to.

Bunny Bread is a cheap brand... its about as processed junk as you can get.

Brownberry Oatnut is good stuff I think (according to ingredients), it's one of my favorite, and it won't mold. I don't eat it much, maybe only a few times a month.
I had a bag in the freezer for about 2 months, took it out to thaw, had it in the fridge for about 2 more months, still no mold, then let it set out on the counter at room temp for about 1 month and STILL NO MOLD!!!! It only got slightly stiff and dry-ish... like huhhhhhh, whats in this bread!!??

Bread quality declined since the lockdowns, its like its drier.

Have to pay for more and more premium stuff.

Unless you are living in an arid place like Arizona whereupon not a lot of humidity is available to nourish the mold/bacteria.

As someone who has lived in Arizona multiple times starting from when I was little I beg to disagree. Stuff out there definitely gets moldy.

Great username btw. Real name or did you get it from a Japanese game? I see it every day in Another Eden.
