Mmm, very unfortunate and I am glad you survived. I have learned to be very defensive and not assume people will obey traffic laws. My personal motto is "if you give them a chance to hit you, they will". Even when the crosswalk says I can go, I always make sure approaching cars have come to a full stop before doing crossing, same with stop signs.

I mean personally there is litterally a road next to where i live where when it's green for peoples to cross that's also when all cars in the opposite road are doing a sharp turn toward your direction and they even closed the road behind because it was too dangerous, like. At this point it's a free for all and being vigilant at all time is vital, peoples rushing around here don't care, especially germans crossing the frontier and speeding with a Mercedes.

Sounds 'Murrica tier. Hopefully no children get hit, which sounds very plausible. I don't think many people should be allowed to drive, but that's another thread.
