It's much easier to learn than, say, German, where you have to learn whole tables of gendered articles (das, dem, den, etc).

It is pirates language, filled with skulduggery and shenanigans, deep down, the depths below, where there is no light, the restless and formless things wrestle to achieve definition and cohesion but never quite getting there, because they don't want to, makes it harder to lie and bamboozle if they ever did, who wants that, disorder is good, chaos is best.

English is a mix of languages, and each language has different rules, so the origin of each word is critical in understanding the rules. Add to that the dictionaries evolve over time because people don't always follow the rules (especially English speaking peoples, it seems), then you end up with a mess!
