Why do todays fanfic authors mostly write troll fics and freak out over trivial matters?

Edit: Occasionally there are actually mean readers but most of the time it's what I said below abot trolling for a reaction from them then being mad when they get it.

I've notice that the majority of fanfics looks as if they are just trolling for an angry/shocked reaction then when they get that they 'freak out' by yelling at the reader and blocking them/complain on the R/Fanfic hubs about so called 'mean readers' where half the time it's usually bunk.

Also since when did saying "I like your story because of XYZ I hope you update soon" became offensive? Like seriously dude a lot of authors need to get a grip on reality as it's scaring away readers from even wanting to comment thus the complains of 'Why is nobody commenting on my story?" whoa is me threads and a 100 things a reader should never ever say or God forbid.

I'm glad I don't read fanfic on reddit, if that's what it's like there.
(i.e, this seems more like a reddit trashfire thing, rather than a 'fanfic' thing)
