These are the Top 10 Animes of All Time:
(in my opinion)

1. Steins;Gate

For those about to ask "liek omfg whares Naruto/DBZ/OnePiece/(insert shonen anime)", this list is MY opinion. And my opinion is that shonen anime's suck.

Reasons why I believe shounen anime sucks:

1. Action is too stretched out (not enough per episode)
2. Story sucks (or, more correctly, is extremely repetitive)
3. Villians aren't original and are cardbord evil.
4. Good characters have almost all identical personalities
5. All "super" attacks are basically the same.

DB was always superior to DBZ, in my opinion: Being stronger than your opponent didn't mean straight victory, Goku didn't always win, human characters were competent and the villains had more charm to them. I mean, an assassin who throws a tree to the air, jumps on top of it and rides it? That's alot better than a bubblegum monster who has the same gimmick as the last major villain.

Some good shonen I've watched are Yu Yu Hakusho and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. I'd recommend watching Jojo as the anime adaptation is fairly new, counting the two first parts completely from the eight parts in total. It also helps that each part of Jojo has a new protagonist so you can pick from wherever you want without much confusion. You might miss some references and key plot points by doing this, though.

I agree that Dragon ball>DBZ

Yu Yu Hakusho is probably the best Shonen anime. What really set this show apart from other action shows for me was the relatively intelligent use of dialogue by the main characters. The characters felt more real and fleshed out when compared to the other shows

However, I do still retain my point that MOST shonen animes are awful.
