While I can see the validity in your statement, I disagree. Anime is just another medium for story-telling. It doesn't really matter how "cool" the art style, if the story sucks, the show probably does aswell.

8. Black Butler (honestly like the manga better than the anime)

2. Saiyuki (great story based on a chinese legend)

3. Cowboy Bebop

4. Maburaho (a bit more on the girlish side but a great story nonetheless)

5. Gundam (its a popular anime worldwide for a reason. good story and has a good mix of everything)

My friend was obsessed with Fairy Tail, she would say 'Aye' like Happy... And she passed that habit on to me and now I say Aye instead of Yes, sometimes.
