Is the Wii U really bad?

Some people have been saying the Wii U is bad and that it isone of the worst Nintendo consoles. Is that really true that its bad? No... some of the people who say its bad dont even have the Wii U. The Xbox One also gets hate like the Wii U. Some people say the Xbox One is bad even though they dont have it. The Wii U has great games like Legend of Zelda Wind Waker HD and Mario Kart 8 and many more. SSB4 and Hyrule Warriors will be released later this year!

Alright, let's take a look at the games on that list that aren't remakes, ports or multiplatform releases:

New Super Mario Bros. U - Can't argue with that. System seller.

Nintendo Land - Free. Glorified tech demo.

ESPN Sports Connection - Minigame collection. So good it doesn't even have a Wikipedia page.

Rabbids Land - Another minigame collection. Flopped hard.

ZombiU - At least managed to get off the ground, despite being regarded as mediocre at best.

Game Party Champions - Another shovelware minigame collection.

Well, that doesn't leave much. The only launch title that did really well was New Super Mario Bros. U.

Could you list more exclusives that aren't re-releases or commercial flops?

The last set of games you listed are reason enough to buy the Wii U. Plus, Nintendo Land (“glorified tech demo” or not) is A LOT of fun to play with friends and family (in the same room) and it's too bad more Wii U games don't draw some ideas from a few of those Nintendo Land mini-games.

Also, who cares if a game is a "commercial flop" if it's good? I don't think LEGO City Undercover or The Wonderful 101 have sold all that well, but they're very good games and exclusive to the Wii U. Plus, if the lineup of upcoming games for the Wii U doesn't get you excited, then I don't know what will.

Yes, just like EVERY SINGLE GAME PLATFORM (PC INCLUDED) THAT HAS EVER EXISTED, there are A LOT of crap games on the Wii U. I’d guess that no more than 25% of the games on any platform are worth playing. Of course, that’s a matter of opinion, but that’s just my guess.

The Wii U is still very early in its life cycle (less than two years in). I don't know why people are freaking out. As I mentioned, there is a great lineup of games on the way with (I’m sure) many more to come.

On a side note, I wish there were more and better exclusives for every console. The way I do it is if it's on PC, then usually I'll get it for the PC. After that, almost every console game I own is exclusive to its platform or just not available on PC (i.e., Red Dead Redemption, etc.). This means I have fewer games than for my Xbox 360 than I do for my PlayStation 3 or Wii. Microsoft just doesn’t seem as resourceful as Sony or Nintendo when it comes to developing, publishing, and/or locking up exclusive titles.

I’m not sure what your beef is with me or what I said. I wasn’t even defending or applauding Nintendo for its Wii U launch lineup. I just couldn’t believe what Eye Play Games had said about the Wii U, according to him/her, having only 40 games. Obviously, it has many more than that and I’d guess that there are well over 40 that are original titles and not the remakes you speak of.

And, who cares if they’re remakes? The Last of Us Remastered is a remake/port for the PS4 (and I plan to buy it when I finally get a PS4), Microsoft is releasing all the old Halo games. That’s just what publishers and developers do. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD is awesome! I wish Nintendo would do HD remakes of a lot of their games, like the Galaxy series and Metroid Prime. I have a lot of the HD remakes on the PS3 and they’re great.

If you don’t like the Wii U or its game lineup, then don’t buy it, but I’m not sure what you’re complaining or arguing about.

I like the Gamepad. It's a really Unique idea. Pretty much Anybody who doesn't have a Wii U Thinks it's terrible, but the way they use it is really clever and It's Fun to Use.

Exactly. I wasn't convinced until I got a Wii U. Who doesn't sit on the couch an mess around on their smartphone or tablet? These days, we all do. It's like our heads and necks have grown used to looking down, so the Wii U gamepad ends up feeling very natural. It has it's problems, but it also opens up new avenues for gameplay along with just getting into a game faster with the new Quick Start menu.
