Thank you for this one single name (that I don't like and could not care less about btw), I mentioned one single game too and I still say that it is not worth it.
I remember when I used to talk about older consoles like PS2, Gamecube, Wii and other older ones in other forums everybody had a list of at least 30 different games to support their favourite consoles... at least 30 games, on a console that is more practical than the big, heavy and unbearably sluggish PS4 (keep in mind that I had the PS4 Pro and used it only in performance mode!!!), can definitely be worth it
It's good that Horizon finally comes to PC, mighty good game.
so now in this discussion we have to not only name games that were critically acclaimed and had blockbuster sales but ones that personally interest you as well?
The main problem is that one game is not enough. I mentioned only one game and you mentioned only one game as well.
Other than that of course I only care about the games that I really actually like.
The Neo Geo was a console that most people would have desperately wanted like a dream out of their reach, but for me it has never been very interesting, many people could name probably more than 30 games they love on the Nintendo 64 and on the Dreamcast but for me personally Nintendo 64 and Dreamcast are garbage.
But talking about the PS4 none of us mentioned 30 games. Not me and not you either.
Now I don't really need the list if you say that there is a considerable amount of exclusives on PS4 that you like enough to keep it fine, for sure your taste is very different than mine then.
This opens up a whole new topic which is why consoles exist. I agree, console exclusives are dumb. Because basically they develop the game using the computer, but make the computer unable to run it. Why? Simple answer - money. There are a lot of people who will buy a console just for 1 or 2 games. If you compare the amount of money spent of the game with the amount of money spent on the console and the subscription, it ends up to being equal of having a PC capable of running a lotta games on even higher settings than the console. Meanwhile PC games cost waaaayyyy less and you don't need online subscription.
That's what I keep telling myself, anyways.
For many people that's a big plus and a reason why they only play on consoles. And game developers/publishers know this, hence why many of them had a bigger focus on consoles than on PC.
That is only needed if one plays multiplayer.
I've been gaming since msdos and I can tell you for a fact that getting started with pc gaming is way easier nowadays. The hardware part can take some time, but it will save you money at the end. And you are able to play online for as long as there are players, which is cool too. There are also a lotta forums to discuss and get feedback and tips.
Thank you captain obvious.
People like us are interested in such things, so we look things up and talk about it. Others, well, they simply want to buy a machine, connect it to their tv, shove a disc in and be ready with it, real plug-and-play.
Keep in mind that pros and cons of systems end up being subjective. It all depends on the perspective of someone whether they're actually relevant.
originally because most people didnt own a computer and because most computers that were owned were not all that great AND because something to play games didnt need all the assorted stuff that a computer can do that isnt gaming related.
as time goes on we see more of a blending.
we dont have monitors and tv sets that dont cross over as much anymore as we have something that can function as both.
we are reaching a point soon where we wont have consoles and wont have pc anymore. we will have something that is in between. microsoft has already decided that is the way it is going. the xbox continues moving in that direction. there is a reason they are game sharing. there is a reason the consoles have browsers now. we can plug controllers into the pc and we can plug keyboards into the console.
right now we have pc that can also play game and we have consoles that can also double as a pc. it wont be long til they are the same thing and the line between a monitor and a tv is gone.
