Though Id encourage getting the first game since a ton of the side mission characters and your actions to all of the main story and side stories end up being brought up and youll see what happened due to your actions.
The 'custom' story start doesnt have all of the mini choices so sadly to get all of it you have to play through it.
Mass Effect 1 is pretty..... story focus and slow to start but if you choose to skip it ME2 and 3 are heavy story and get you right into the action, no real slow moments.
All DLCs and all your choices will transfer to 3rd game too (even your choices in ME1 and its DLCs if you do get those).
Id say its worth it id even say skip 1 if you arent into slower pacing.
Part 3,,, was a huge ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ let down.
sadly no. :/ EA pulled off of steam due to violations and they went off and did origins mid DLCs for ME2 kn steam. :|
and to top it off your me1 steam save cant plug into origins me 2 or me 2 steam cant plug into me3. its ♥♥♥♥♥♥ but it is what it is....
Unless they've changed it more recently, yes. But it goes one way. You know your Cerberus Network login? That's also an Origin account. Ergo, you should also be able to download and install through Origin and just purchase the DLC there.
(NOTE: It will not grant you the DLC on Steam. You won't be able to download it from here, though technically I think when it does the network check, you'd still be able to launch from here and have the DLC enabled. Don't quote me on that, though, I've not tried it.)
oh. go with this ^ instead of what i said then.
It's a mess, though. So until you try it (open the Origin client with the Cerberus Network login) to make sure it still works, don't go ahead and just buy the DLC bundle.
You can go to origin to buy it or you know...
It's my greatest Sci-Fi triology.
Would recommend even though the 3rd ending was an ass.
ME crew especially 2 probably the best allies you have in entire game you have played.
Here's how the DLC for Mass Effect 2 works:
- If you buy the game + DLC through Origin, everything downloads & installs through Origin. Enjoy.
If you buy & install the game through Steam:
- register your Steam ME2 key with EA (which gives you a free copy of the game on Origin)
- purchase the DLC bundle on Origin to add them to your EA account
- download & install the DLC manually from https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/download-dlc-for-classic-origin-games/
If might look like the DLC are free on that webpage, but they're not. If the DLC are not registered to your EA account (accomplished by purchasing the DLC bundle on Origin), they won't work.
i'd get, 2 and 3 you'll jump on 3 soon as you're done with 2, mind you 1 and 2 an't long 3 is longer
and im playing them all on the hardest
also for a story point start with 1 you can import your saves into 2 and 2 into 3
