All game consoles are BSD, fine tuned with the hardware.

GNU/Linux could be off the charts if a manufacturer tweaked the Linux kernel and the GNU abstractions in order to make a dockable handheld gaming device.

The more drivers you need the worse your hardware likely lis. That's why chromebooks actually are pretty decent minus the Intel ME and AMD PSP.
