Do you consider lab grown meat vegan?
I'd like to hear your opinion on it, whether you are vegan, non-vegan, pro vegan, anti vegan etc. All input counts.

I'll start:
In my opinion lab grown meat is in fact vegan. While yes, it's undeniable that it's meat, it was made without harming animals, which is one of things veganism goes for.

I consider vegetarians as meat...
Why won't it be considered as meat, if they take animal cells and slowly grow it in lab
Pieshaman Mar 23, 2024 @ 4:11am
but there is nothing veggie about it so why call it vegan?

I don't intend to interfere with someone's vegan diet or anything, I just want to hear people's opinions on if lab grown meat follows the core idea of veganism, which in my eyes; it does

Vegan... Movement? Was created primarily to cease ♥♥♥♥♥♥ treatment of animals that were to be turned into food. So meat created without harming of living beings should be technically vegan

I don't want to eat it unless I know it suffered and died to provide me sustenance.
I work a lot and very closely with meat eaters all the time, sometimes it is through the eye, but most times it is on the juice to make one's bones.

As long as the meat eaters get their points and don't eat alone, the earner should grant a kick up where everyone is happy.

If Charlie was bustin the radio, then I could see this as a problem.

Would you eat a tumour ?

Vegan? Probably not. But I also don't see the moral aspect of veganism applying to it.

If I was guaranteed it wouldn't kill me then why not?

If Finns (pretty sure it was finns) eat rotting maggot infested cheese and consider it delicacy a tumor would not be that bad

You can call me weird person if you wanna, I am not a vegan and I happily munch on meat, however if lab meat becomes avaliable everywhere and will be proven to not negatively affect your health (unlike BeyondMeat and their extreme sodium levels) I'll happily switch to it.

Then again, maybe I am just weird :p

I'm pretty sure it wouldn't pose any health risks, though can't guarantee that you'll be 100 % safe

That's impressed you'd consider trying it, you really are quite the gourmet !

I'd drink water out of an elephant dung if i had to. That's a real thing too. If you're lost in the sahara with no water, you can squeeze water out of animal crap. But only herbivores. Zebras and giraffes and stuff.

Thank god you were here.

If you could find a fresh enough turd to do that then there's surely a meat feast waiting for you further up the trail :D
