The difference between a trans gender person and a trans sexual is that one if a male and the other has had surgery to remove male genitals.

My understanding is that transgender is a more modern and popular way of saying transexual and having a memory longer than 2 seconds, I know this for a fact.
The terms for what you are describing are pre-op and post-op.

I never knew there was a "third" gender.

There are non-binary people, like hermaphrodites, born with XXY chromosomes. Forcing them to choose a binary gender is a violence against them.
