She's not 16, she's 32 years old.

The toddler was 16 months and she just left her at home while going on a 10 day holidays. Finally returns home and discovers the toddler had died. It wasn't the first time she left the baby alone either.

The mom is 32 years old.

The baby is 16 months old.

So yes, the mom is not a juvenile at all, and to be honest, the vast majority of 16 year olds would have known vacationing for 10+ days and leaving the baby at home just like that is beyond an idiotic idea.
