It is part of the same thing as "Satanic Panic" in that most of stated reasons for the "Woke Movement" do not actually exist in many places...
In the US, there are laws against discrimination and laws protecting equal rights.
There are no laws, nor should there be, that force people to "like" anyone.
That some people may not like, favor, or condone others or what they do does not matter. Sorry, it doesn't. As long as they don't act upon those opinions to impact someone else's Rights, that is all that a stable society needs. Freedom of Association is a Right, too.
"Recognition" in entertainment media is largely not what is desired by "Woke." "Woke" wants elevation, conspicuous affirmation, and idolization in entertainment media. Most entertainment media has no need to acknowledge any sexual activities or alignment whatsoever. If there is such a need, then producers can make that decision at the time the script is written, not before the script is written...
"Woke" exists. It is not the false alarm that the "Satanic Panic" was. "Woke" earns billions of monies every year from people too afraid of backlash to not pay it. "Woke" gains political ground by bullying, threats, and making accusations. That's called "Blackmail" and it's real.
In Mexico we have no discrimination laws, you can't get fired or have your service denied for your color of the skin, religion, gender, sexual orientation or ethnicity is not that you are forced to like someone, is that they tell you shouldn't hate on others for things out of their control (such as race or gender) or things they are associated with (religion for example) of course this won't apply if someone, for example a christian, goes into a nightclub and begins to preach to people against their will.
So it's basically reactionaries getting mad over pixels ? Not much different from the first one tbh
I believe are mixing things, I know what you are talking about but I don't believe it fits in what people consider to be woke
Different drive all-together. The people calling 'woke' are often anything but puritans, despite how many believe in God, in-place of Karl Marx for all you commies.
I don't see how Marx fits here tho
