I have many words for Nintendo right now. Sadly, the forum rules do not allow me to post them.

It's the precedent though. This is not just about Nintendo. But to be fair, this isn't the place nor the forum to discuss such matters.

I'll stop now, before I start ranting here.

Didn't they paywall some of their stuff? If that's correct then it's not surprising Nintendo got them.

yep

CEMU is still available and Nintendo never went for it. Ryujinx (which is better than YUZU) might be safe. CITRA going down is a real shame.

A Switch emulator being sued by Nintendo.

Wait until someone uses the source code of Yuzu to make a copycat emulator

CEMU didn't bypass decryption. If you wanted to play a game on Cemu you had to find all the arcane tools and codes necessary to decrypt the games first.

According to the decision here, and one of the reasons why the suit succeeded, was that Yuzu bypassed all that. Basically it was too easy.

I guess. I never tried it. But I did try (and love) that one game on Cemu. But getting it to work was such a pain in the butt it wasn't worth doing that ever again.

I sure would give Nintendo a fistful of my money for Zelda on Steam, though.

But Nintendo doesn't want fistfuls of my money? Okay. i don't mind missing out.

Yes. Those old enough remember that this is why Bleem! was taken out by Sony. It was a working Playstation One emulator (when the PS1 was still just called the Playstation, and was still immensely popular in stores). For a couple of months, you could buy Bleem! at the store, with all the other boxed PC programs. Sony's lawyers weren't cool with that.

Yuzu didn't bypass it.

You were still required to have the product keys and bios of a system before it would work.
