It died in 2011 when redditors flooded in. Now all the actually productive and interesting activities occur in private forums and discord. I now exclusively use 4chan for organizing multiplayer games at a particular general thread on /vg/

well the right wingers there are largely imports that showed up to promote trump's campaign starting in 2015 or so. (there were plenty before then but they weren't flaunting it like that.)

the pedo threads happened because a significant amount of the virginia giuffrie case and organizing took place on 4chan. so just typical pedo lords taking a squat on a defeated and helpless child's forum, per usual.

I know it's very difficult to define those "laws" and for sure some places get it wrong, but I don't believe that's reason to just give up and allow anyone to say anything they please without consequence.
