What's a game you know that suffers from first game syndrome?
For people who aren't aware, the term "first game syndrome" is a game that started off poorly, but got much better with future installments.

Farcry 2, but it fell down again partway through Crysis.
Onimusha.
Mario.
Final Fantasy.

most games just get worse or don't spawn many sequels, usually both.

you mean a game that got post launch updates and made better? or games that had sequels better than the original game?

The first Mega Man game is definitely the worst of the classic Mega Man series. You can tell they were still working things out.

Sequels better than the original. But if it's a single game that had a very bad start that has no sequels, then it get better with updates, that counts too.

Mega Man Battle Network. BN1 was nothing more than a concept, a good concept but so clunky, none of the QOL from the future games would exist yet and you'd even need to waste a spot in your attack folder to escape from battles...

BN2 and onwards are goated games... and yet when I went back to the series recently BN1 might've been the only one I 100% completed xD
