No Netflix. No Paramount+. No Apple. No Disney+. No subs at all, besides Prime.
I won't support this fractured system of dystopian distribution. I'd go broke.
They should be arrested... They obviously intend on bad-touching Neuromancer on its No-No-Spots.
F...
Why can't they just leave things the heck alone? Just...don't touch. That's it. Just hecking obey traffic laws, don't steal, try not to hurt anyone, and do not F'ing touch masterpiece classics to prop up crappy, failing, streaming subscription services. That is all that is reasonably demanded by Life, so why can't they hecking not do these hecking things?
Then they disappeared. Forever. They were replaced.
Movies and televised drama are *going* to being replaced. It was a good run. But nothing lasts forever. The industry, like the Radio Drama industry, will be gone some day. People will find better things to do with their time and money. As it always was.
I wish people could wrap their heads around this truth.
Humanity has only had movies for ~100 years. Their time is at hand.

That's not fair, fun for them, let them have a little scratch.
Here's a good one...

Books are still around, though. :)
My first experience with Lord of the Rings was from a friend's record collection... He had the Lord of the Rings narrative on vinyl records that was distributed to radio stations. So, we listened to the entire reading of the three books over the course of a few days.
As soon as I saw a three-volume boxed set on the shelf at a local book/hobby/pet-store shop... I bought it with my saved up allowance money. :)
PS: I do accept your general meaning, though - As ways to commercially exploit narrative experiences broaden, attention shifts to the ones that are most valuable for those that produce them. :)
That would be such a cool thing to have!
Edit: I can't find referenced to its existence even, using Bing. All I get are soundtracks for the modern films.
I really wanted that set. I borrowed it and re-listened to it.
I don't remember if the reading was abridged. It was meant to be a radio-broadcast told for an hour or so show over the course of week/weeks. University and public-radio stations were its target, I think.
From here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lord_of_the_Rings_(disambiguation)
It may have been this one:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lord_of_the_Rings_(1979_radio_series)
But, it was on vinyl/acetate... So, according to the above and the needed date range, it would have had to be this one of the "known" recordings at the time:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lord_of_the_Rings_(1955_radio_series)
It was a "radio-station only" distribution and not available for purchase by the general public, AFAIK.

On topic portioning :)
I noticed when trying to find out if Dune had similar treatment in the past that a bunch of "podcast" and youtube peeps were doing readings of Dune on their streams. I dunno if this is because of Dune pt 2 hype or not, but it seems likely they'd pick up on it. So, there's plenty of choices out there for audio-book like Dune entertainment.
They forgot there were personal shields and end up using guns to kill each other. I wouldn't watch it again. They could had cut it down 1 hour and it wouldn't change the plot.
I personally would cut away the scene with people uncanny dies one after the other as they getting shot with guns. We won't really see anything of this event really have any future plot. The scene is not itself bad, it's one of the better but it is just so random and out of character since it's not really explained. One of the bad guys said no shields and no shields there was.I just wished it was better explained but there is none.
The actor playing the emperor was really bad. I wish Joffrey in game of thrones was the Emperor. There are better actors.
You know it felt like someone wrapped the movie like it was toilet paper on how they think length of the movie makes it better because there is for certain some movies who are too short but this one it has nothing to show for an hour who could been wrapped up in 20 minutes.
One scene is literally the main character asking what are you laughing about? For 5 minutes. Is that you want to show me? Isn't there anything else better you could have done like continue the scene and see where it goes from there, nope. Sit and look at the sun.
He will know the ways like it was his own is not a thing anymore. The prophecies comes and goes. So now he is on training course about the things he should already know. They have things painted on walls and they just make up things as it goes.
The most ridicilous scene is at the end where a helicopter shoots straight down at them when in previous plot device was to try survive a single helicopter.
The helicopter is floating above them who are crowed in a rectangular room while the helicopter shoots straight down at them. How many survive? All of them. Their opponents suppose to have shields so they can just stand there while the helicopter kills them. It wouldn't be an issue if it wasn't a plot device.
Short:
part 1 there are shields,
Part 2 there are no shields.
I have not read the novels but if I have the Emperor. Then why are they to when the Emperor is already there. What are they going to win out of it. Who wrote this¿?
So you have to defeat the entire galaxy when the guy who rules the galaxy is under your rule. Are they not afraid that you would create a power vaccum by abdicate the Emperor. You know forget it. Just go out and depleted your resources on defeating every single kingdom when the head is on the plate. It just works.
I agree
I do not agree. I think It would have been better to split the movie into two parts
They don't use shields because it attracts the worms. It was explained in the first movie.
