I don't want to participate to any wars
I'm not a fighter, have never beat anyone outside the gym.

So if a war came to my country, I would run far away. The only thing I can do is send money and aids to support the people who would fight to protect the country.

How about you? Would you join the force to protect your country directly?

I'm pro WW3, I feel like there is nothing more important than a war where only a few proper people survive.

You're jolly welcome my friend :KneelingBow:

You assume you'll have the ability to run away.

Yeah. It didn't work out that way for many of the young males in Ukraine.

I'm not sure how it would be in other countries, but in Japan we can pay to flee to a third country.

The JSDF has grown by leaps and bounds the past few years, but they've still only hit about 3/4 of their enlistment figures.

Japan doesn't have conscription or mandatory military service yet anyway. And I can't find anything in the news where it's even being considered.

Still, so much for being a team player, I guess.

Yeah.

Btw I don't think Japan would join a war due article 9 of the the Constitution, which prevent Japanese Government from deploying troops to foreign battlefields.

I just don't know about American troops who are staying in Japan though. If the US joined a war with our neighbor countries, would they attack American troops in Japan? In case they did, that would bring Japan into an unexpected war though.

I know the chance of a war happens in East Asia is low, but it isn't zero. Because of that, when it had a sight of becoming worse, I would flee to a safer place like Southeast Asia or South America.

You may run and live… maybe for a while.

When wars come to the soil of a country, conscription becomes the norm. And it's pretty common that people who refuse to fight are not allowed to flee the country, in many cases they'll be executed for trying. If was comes to your country, your own government may not give you a choice. That's why it's mind boggling how many people are eager to antagonize their neighbors and try to start wars. It may look cool in a video game, but it's not something you want coming to your home town.

The next step in a globalised world with CBDC is to cut off people's ability to flee wars by shutting down their ability to use money. Some assume.

That is one reason to be Pro-multipolar world imo. You still have options. If a country isn't on the west system, flee to the east or south or north.

I imagine in china if they have a war on home soil and you draft dodge, if you aren't killed, your social credit score will be dirt for the rest of your life. Meanwhile the government leaders never have to go and maintain a high score, funny that.

I don’t think conscription is a good idea. There would be a lot of chaos. Even in the Vietnam War soldiers would kill their own commanding officers. It happens.

Well if it's a normal war sure you can attempt to flee, if it's a nuclear war you only got either south america or africa or some random island far away from all conflict zones, to attempt to flee.

Everywhere else would be total anarchy + famine + lack of potable water + lack of antibiotics + lack of civilian infrastructure, etc.

The way it sounds like, I'm going to be the poor bugger having to defend you lot.

I wonder if I'm going in alone.....

That's ok, army needs gym pros too to help the soldiers having gym activities. And they need hairdressers too, do not worry the job is not very hard to get right after the 20-ish first tries. They also need "professionals" about cleaning in the mess hall and the toilets and the like.

Army offers very rewarding positions suited to everyone, the "being a taget for shelling in the front lines" is not the only career path :) You can be a target as a military base personnal too ! :)

That sounds like a good idea, but the history said something opposite. Like, people who don't want to fight would be trained to drive suicidal plane, or be beheaded by the generals.
