Why is money so evil?
The richer you are the more evil you are. Good people are always stuck poor so they can't change anything about the world around them while rich people are always inherently bad. Do you think it's like how sharks are to blood or something else entirely?

because it's only any good if you spend it.

consider a $1 item, like a pack of cheap hotdogs. when you refuse to spend your $1 that's one pack of hotdogs that is no longer in circulation. you're taking away real, actually valuable goods in exchange for something that gets more worthless the more you have of it.

not necessarily money but generally also power

have you ever heard of mansa musa? he's so rich he donated all (or some, really) of his gold during his pilgrimage to the point that the local economy flopped. but generally speaking, he's good even if you think money is evil.

I don't think money is evil or rich people always evil

But like the bible says, the LOVE of money is the root of all evil

i heard he got rich buying everything in a deflated economy using a cache of stolen gold he found.

then he didn't know how to spend his money, so he had to deflate the economy repeatedly in order to repeat the process of acquisition and dispersal and to maintain his position.

the same is true of most hereditary wealth in feudal systems.

I don't think money is evil. Money is not going around engaging in terrorism or knocking my mailbox off the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ post for the third time this month ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ neighborhood kids.

Birds nailed it. Money is worthless without goods and services to exchange it for. It's what people will do for money that makes THEM evil [usually a quick or easy method to obtain money]. But there are plenty of legit ways to make money and not be evil.

edit: Oh, nevermind. Just actually read your post. The way you use the word "always" makes it too easy to pick this argument apart.

God created reality and everything works as he intends it. It even says in the Bible we get the rulers that God sets in place.

So he's the reason morally depraved abominations wearing the skin of humanity always have all the money and the rest of us live in abject misery.

Sometimes I have to wonder.

I see money doing more to help people than miracles of God.

I also take note Jesus paid his taxes. He even made his disciples go catch a fish to get the tax money. So he wouldn't even let them have the money for free they still had to do work for it.

Why wasn't Jesus more powerful than money? Couldn't he have not paid his taxes? Seems really sus.

If the goal is money, they can be evil. If it's something different, it doesn't mean they're evil.

I'm going to disagree completely as the stereotype of the evil rich is taken from fictional movies.

Most crimes derive from lower income earners due to poverty, cultural influence and lack of education and employment. There are statistics that cover this worldwide.

You must have missed the part where Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego was thrown into the furnace for refusing to bown down (at the king of babylon's order) and worship an idol

Yes we're suppose to follow the government authority, unless they go against God's law
Then obviously God's law is the priority
Governments or kings have free will too
God doesn't control their actions

How ironic that Judas betrayed Jesus for silver coins, and then he decided he didn't want the money anymore and regretted his decision, and gave the coins back to the Jews who wanted Jesus dead.

This didn't work out well for Jesus, but Judas was possibly the first person in recorded history to overcome the corruptive allure of money. In that moment, he became a stronger more moral person. Too bad it was possibly too late to save him from judgement. The deed was done.

Also this worked out really well for the Jews. Not only did they get to kill the guy they wanted dead, but they got their money back. it was a free killing. I bet they all danced in a circle.
