I liked his stand-up comedy, what little I saw of it. And, he had some pretty sharp observations, comedically speaking.
Then, someone thought he should be given a talk show to opine about whatever he wanted and to bring on guests who'd mostly ape his political talking points, or volunteer for abuse for cash, I guess.
I don't care if he's now talking about something I'd 100% agree with or be guilty of shoving some revolutionary thought into my own head that I just fell in love with...
He's a political blow-hard who bottles his own farts for posterity. And, that's coming from someone who's very much a blowhard on some subjects... but, I don't bottle my own farts.
PS: He's the Democratic/Liberal antithesis of Dennis Miller. Miller, who also had some great comedy stuff, is a far-right blowhard who also bottles his own farts...
He says something mildly reasonable from time to time so the left can pretend they aren't insane, so they can double down and vote again on their delusions.
The dumb conservatives who look for approval point to this guy to say look even he thinks this, its pathetic. The guy is an operative who sold his soul long ago, he made enough to not take money to hold his tongue and yet he remains a paid off stooge. Just one look at his sterile private life reveals his true motivations and beliefs.
He like Stewart dumbed down everything through their propaganda of sound bites, his show was a monologue of smug conditioning no different from John Oliver, a rigged panel of guests with at most a token conservative, but never anyone dangerous, and then he would talk over his 4 guests for 15 minutes leaving them about 2 minutes of total talk time each. This is the rigged discourse that created the modern left.
Only difference between a neocon and a neolib is the letter after their name. Otherwise, same ♥♥♥♥ different ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Majestic Turkey has just explained things more or less succinctly.
What is this?
When Maher said the things you wanted to hear, he was A.O.K., but now that he says things you don't agree with he's obviously been paid off.
Whether you realize it or not, that is the sum total of your argument.
I believe you mean that he's become the epitome?
You know what makes me aaaaangry? The fact that I was planning on purchasing Spec Ops: The Line at GOG, DRM-free, just waiting for another sale, only to check on it the day before and find out they pulled it from the stores.
This angers me.
That's funny to me, tiny E.
