Sweet Baby Inc Games Part 2
Let's keep it civil. We don't want threads like these getting locked due to disagreement. I just posted this a few hours ago. Thoughts?

"Gamers (as a diverse group) don't want political ideology inserted into their games. They especially don't want the modern-day politics of the alt-left inserted into their games. They don't want their favorite intellectual properties (like Star Wars, Spiderman, or Lord of the Rings) rewritten and redirected to fit the current political narrative.

It's obviously not just Sweet Baby, Inc. That company is a symptom of a greater problem. When politics magically inserts itself undemocratically and uncompetitively, you gotta follow the money. And consider the tactics.

Here is Larry Fink, the CEO of Blackrock, saying you have to force behaviors:

YouTube™ Video: Larry Fink | BlackRock | CEO ESG CEI | Force Change

BlackRock CEO Larry Fink Manages $8.6 trillion in assets. He explains how ESG & CEI has to be forced upon people.

Consultants like Sweet Baby Inc are hired to insert DEI into games to satify the ESG incentive. The ESG incentive comes from major investment companies like Blackrock and Vanguard.

You know the sweet sounding words of DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) don't work as well in practice when laws are being enacted against it.

So, what happened? A guy from Brazil (username KABRUTUS) created a group here on Steam listing all of the games worked on by Sweet Baby Inc. Is there anything wrong with creating that list? No. Why? It doesn't violate the rules. How do you know? Because the group is still here. And trust me, Steam looked into it.

So, the group (created at the end of January) slowly gathered members during the month of February.

What caused the group membership to explode in early March (when the group had only 9,000 followers) was when a Sweet Baby Inc employee took to X (Twitter) and tried to crowd-source reports to silence/censor the group. She said "report the f#ck out of this group" and report KABRUTUS as well "since he loves his account so much." The Sweet Baby Inc employee was subsequently banned from X for a week because you are not allowed to start harassment campaigns.

So, the Sweet Baby Inc employee brought massive negative attention to her company because of the tactics she employed to silence a group - a group that is not breaking the rules. This fact is overlooked by the gatekeepers and game journalists, but not the gaming community on YouTube.

The Sweet Baby Inc Detected group has become a Top 5 group on Steam in less than two weeks. It has grown from 9,000 followers to 275,000 followers:

https://steamcommunity.com/groups/sweetbabyinc-detected/curation

The relative size (Top 5 group) and massive growth rate (less than two weeks) of the Sweet Baby Inc Detected group should tell people that gamers (again, a diverse group) consider this to be an important issue.

I've been following this story ever since I was first alerted to it - when the Sweet Baby Inc employee tried to crowd-source a harassment campaign on Twitter to silence/censor a Steam group voice (and get the curator banned as well). The CEO and other employees of Sweet Baby Inc have said disturbing things online - and maybe I'll post about them. If you want to know more just search for Sweet Baby Inc on YouTube and take your pick from the myriad popular videos.

Here is the CEO of Sweet Baby Inc suggesting you terrify marketing departments into hiring consultants like Sweet Baby Inc:

Why is it necessary to use fear to inject your consulting company into another company?

Anyway Grimmz, The Sweet Baby Inc Detected group had threads like this forum on their page. I watched the group and participated for a while. One of the things that struck me was the diversity there - different political affiliations, sexual orientations, genders - from all over the world. Evidently people don't like being categorized by their identity. Evidently most groups don't have a hivemind. Liberals and people from the LGBT community were out in force there.

But the thing that got me the most was a thread asking where everyone was from. There was representation from all over the world. How do you classify Steam members from all over the world as a single group?

Maybe a diverse group of people can see what is going on."

what's with all the videos involving anime chicks tho?

call me old fashioned... but I don't trust anime chicks to explain much... spending all their time going "teehee" and "OWO"...

If you have people dumb enough to pay for it let em.

I have accepted that most "journalists" are presstitutes who will satisfy whoever gives them money, hence I just ignore them.

What bothers me is the Department of Homeland Security is funding these initiatives and monitoring gamers as terror threats and the violation of 4th ammendment rights to police 1st ammendment speech.

Oh and normies, your little mobile games ALSO fall in this category.
Well the Patriot act made it illegal to disagree with the government... just think, not even speak it.
2011 NDAA brought in the law that the military could arrest you without right to trial.

"Rights" are only words on paper if you don't have a right to get in front of a judge.
We lost our Rights 13 years ago and no one noticed .... why bring it up now? Over a video game consulting firm?
Seems like people should push for its repeal

heh ya... like how people think they're letting all the "criminals" off easy by not throwing them in jail... little do they know if they don't throw them in jail they can actually deny them due process.

it's all a sham to control people and deny them their rights... so sure, go back to "throwing them all in jail" so they all get a fair trial.

like soviet russia up in here.

Okay, this is reaching a level that is hitting extortion.

Then again, game devs mostly suck now a days so I don't care.

But sure.. let's just carry on. Lol. (/s)

There is no such thing as "had to". It's a choice made by a person and not necessarily correct. You are just looking for a cheap way to dismiss the whole thing.

Did you even read the post you replied to? They were talking about government infringing on peoples rights due to passing laws from 9/11

the ♥♥♥♥ are you even on about. Yapping about "like how people think they're letting all the "criminals" off easy by not throwing them in jail... little do they know if they don't throw them in jail they can actually deny them due process."

Try being silent for once you will appear smarter tbh.

it's about the the rights of people deemed as "criminals"?

idk how you don't see it's the same thing... but I guess you've just so caught up in hype labels the govenment assigns to people they don't like like "terrorist" or "missinformation" or "friend of dorothy" that you can't see the world for what it is.

I guess the question comes down to what do YOU consider to be a crime that is worth putting them in jail for? For me, murder and rape are two big ones. You commit one or both of those and admit guilty. Electric chair for you is all I have left to give. Theft, community service hours equal to the price of what you stole. 1 dollar = 1 hour. Don't steal. Destruction of private property. Seizure of assets to repay the damage. I guess I can agree with you on Jail being pointless. A waste of money and time. the criminals no matter what they do sit and provide no benefit to society while taking money for food, electricity, and medicine (they need it to help them survive trying to kill each other in jail). Final thought, if you are gonna laze about and provide no benefit to society in any way. Then you are better off living in the woods by yourself till the day you die. You can't hurt anyone else. You can hunt and gather all your food. I guess simple terms, live without sin.

You need to learn how to express yourself as agreeing then. This is 100% a you not expressing yourself properly issue. You appear as rebutting a post you now claim to be supporting.

Come on! Can nobody just come out with some cool new characters that are women and POC? Would that not be fertile ground for new storytelling? Just think of all the potential creative yields. That is lazy and a serious lack of creativity.

Hey, Apollo. I read lots of statements like yours on the Sweet Baby Inc Detected forum. This is not a party-line vote. It's not even an American vote. I was on the Sweet Baby Inc Detected forum when people were pouring in from all over the world. Every time you refreshed the page, 100's more joined the group. And it became pretty clear after a number of days that it was a diverse group of gamers.

You're a case-in-point. If this was a party-line vote, as a progessive liberal, you wouldn't be pointing out the bullsh!t.

Don't insert ideology into games. Or any entertainment. Pretty simple.

Instead, create something centered around your ideology. And if it's good, people will buy it.

By the way, the group was smart to close the forum/threads. The online cancel culture mob was coming for them. Game journalists can try to define the narrative as something nefarious, but they can't deny the numbers.

I mean... rape doesn't kill people and minimum wage is like $15 an hour now... those are draconian punishments IMO.

You tried sayign they have no impact. I showed you how they had one and then you try and write it off.

No you didn't.

I'm talking about gameplay. actual gameplay. like the stuff you with your Controller / Mouse&Keyboard?

that's what I'm talking about.

Do you think that the Third Person Shooting of Alan Wake 2 would be any different if the player character was a white male instead of a black female?

Do you think the player characters gender and skin color influence how the Guns behave when you control them or how the melee system works if there is any?

Do you think that monsters and other enemies would be more aggressive if the player character was white and male?

Do you think that enemies would have different combat moves and attacks if the player character was a different gender or skin color?

There's a reason why I mentioned Star Wars Jedi Survivor earlier, you know

If you didn't want to play as the default male protagonist, you can download a mod to replace his model with whatever you'd like.

You can download a female character model to replace the default protagonist of Jedi Survivor if you wanted to.

And guess what?

The game is going to play the exact same.

Enemies won't behave differently and they won't get any different combat moves either. Likewise, the player character still uses their weapon the same way they do with the default character model. Nothing changes except for how the player character looks.

It's just window dressing hence why this has no influence on actual gameplay.

Also while we are on topic:

Just because the game is titled Alan Wake 2 doesn't have to mean it has to feature Alan Wake as the player character. It can just as well just be set in the same world/setting with connections to the previous ones.

Case and point: Resident Evil.

None of the playable characters in Resident Evil 1 are playable in Resident Evil 2.

Didn't make the game any less fun though.

Other good examples: Dark Souls, Nioh, Devil May Cry, Dragon Age, Baldur's Gate.

So this whole thing about continuing a series with a different protagonist isn't a new thing and this kind of thing never seemed to bother you with other Game Series.

Why are you such a drama queen about this?

Sweet Baby Inc doesn't work on gameplay. They only know how to insert ideology into games. Did the inserted characters moralize the audience?

Why is ideology being inserted into games, anyway? Seems odd.
