Sweet Baby Inc Games Part 2
Let's keep it civil. We don't want threads like these getting locked due to disagreement. I just posted this a few hours ago. Thoughts?

"Gamers (as a diverse group) don't want political ideology inserted into their games. They especially don't want the modern-day politics of the alt-left inserted into their games. They don't want their favorite intellectual properties (like Star Wars, Spiderman, or Lord of the Rings) rewritten and redirected to fit the current political narrative.

It's obviously not just Sweet Baby, Inc. That company is a symptom of a greater problem. When politics magically inserts itself undemocratically and uncompetitively, you gotta follow the money. And consider the tactics.

Here is Larry Fink, the CEO of Blackrock, saying you have to force behaviors:

BlackRock CEO Larry Fink Manages $8.6 trillion in assets. He explains how ESG & CEI has to be forced upon people.

Consultants like Sweet Baby Inc are hired to insert DEI into games to satify the ESG incentive. The ESG incentive comes from major investment companies like Blackrock and Vanguard.

You know the sweet sounding words of DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) don't work as well in practice when laws are being enacted against it.

So, what happened? A guy from Brazil (username KABRUTUS) created a group here on Steam listing all of the games worked on by Sweet Baby Inc. Is there anything wrong with creating that list? No. Why? It doesn't violate the rules. How do you know? Because the group is still here. And trust me, Steam looked into it.

So, the group (created at the end of January) slowly gathered members during the month of February.

What caused the group membership to explode in early March (when the group had only 9,000 followers) was when a Sweet Baby Inc employee took to X (Twitter) and tried to crowd-source reports to silence/censor the group. She said "report the f#ck out of this group" and report KABRUTUS as well "since he loves his account so much." The Sweet Baby Inc employee was subsequently banned from X for a week because you are not allowed to start harassment campaigns.

So, the Sweet Baby Inc employee brought massive negative attention to her company because of the tactics she employed to silence a group - a group that is not breaking the rules. This fact is overlooked by the gatekeepers and game journalists, but not the gaming community on YouTube.

The Sweet Baby Inc Detected group has become a Top 5 group on Steam in less than two weeks. It has grown from 9,000 followers to 275,000 followers:

https://steamcommunity.com/groups/sweetbabyinc-detected/curation

The relative size (Top 5 group) and massive growth rate (less than two weeks) of the Sweet Baby Inc Detected group should tell people that gamers (again, a diverse group) consider this to be an important issue.

I've been following this story ever since I was first alerted to it - when the Sweet Baby Inc employee tried to crowd-source a harassment campaign on Twitter to silence/censor a Steam group voice (and get the curator banned as well). The CEO and other employees of Sweet Baby Inc have said disturbing things online - and maybe I'll post about them. If you want to know more just search for Sweet Baby Inc on YouTube and take your pick from the myriad popular videos.

Here is the CEO of Sweet Baby Inc suggesting you terrify marketing departments into hiring consultants like Sweet Baby Inc:

Why is it necessary to use fear to inject your consulting company into another company?

Anyway Grimmz, The Sweet Baby Inc Detected group had threads like this forum on their page. I watched the group and participated for a while. One of the things that struck me was the diversity there - different political affiliations, sexual orientations, genders - from all over the world. Evidently people don't like being categorized by their identity. Evidently most groups don't have a hivemind. Liberals and people from the LGBT community were out in force there.

But the thing that got me the most was a thread asking where everyone was from. There was representation from all over the world. How do you classify Steam members from all over the world as a single group?

Maybe a diverse group of people can see what is going on."

this whole thing about Sweet Baby Inc. feels like a witch hunt to me.

Sweet Baby Inc is a symptom of a greater problem.

Do you think consulting companies like Sweet Baby Inc make games better?

Glad to see people becoming aware and having a more informed view on purchases in the future. Disney and other media lost billions last year. Let them burn :monstertraininferno:

I think companies should course-correct.
They will or find other work

Kinda seems like too much of a mess for me to get into or really involved with.

It won't take long to become informed, Mattmoo.

Do you like identity politics and cancel culture?
It's a good story for you then. SBi tried to cancel Kabrutus for starting a steam curator to inform people which games they worked on. Failed and Streisand effected the curator group to over 250k followers. Now they lying about it and calling it a harassment group, even tho not buying their stuff is ignoring the exact opposite of harassment. So maybe I'm neglecting them, but i'm not their mother

this whole thing about Sweet Baby Inc. feels like a witch hunt to me. that's what I think.

there's no way that lousy small time company nobody even heard about until a few weeks ago has the kind of power and influence that some people pretend (and maybe secretly want) them to happen.

it feels like the 1980's satanic D&D panic all over again.

remember the 1980's satanic D&D panic, where weirdos and wackos accused D&D of indoctrinating people into satanism and all that nonsense?

yeah, that's what's basically happening right now with Sweet Baby Inc.

but hey, silver lining

at least there's a number of YouTuber's who can capitalize and profit of this witch hunt against Sweet Baby to make their channels grow, gain more views and make more money.

kinda explains why some YouTuber's are so hellbent into turning this no-name company nobody knew existed until recently into a mustache twirling supervillain...

and honestly, who cares if Sweet Baby Inc really has the power and influence that they are accused of having?

the truth is nowhere near as important as having a convenient scapegoat that can be blamed for everything under the sun.

those last two sentences were sarcasm if you couldn't tell.
It was shown from one of their devs in an interview that they changed the white character to a black character in Alan Wake 2. They obviously have some control over diversity in games considering that is the whole point of the company...

I as a consumer of media care that companies are being pushed to make women ugly like the new Fable. I care that games are being developed to push social issues instead of fun. In the end the market will sort all this out. Whats your problem with consumers having a better understanding of how the games they are buying are being made.

What is so important about this story is that is proving everyones intuition correct. We saw the affects of these companies and felt their impact but couldn't prove it till now.

Also no one is saying its just this one company. People are saying its an entire industry tokenizing people for big money from investment firms like Blackrock and Vanguard.

Sweet Baby Inc detected https://store.steampowered.com/curator/44858017/ curator is still open, so track them if you want to avoid woke influenced games

I can tell you from first hand experience that one such game that used Sweet Baby Inc for DEI is Alan Wake 2. This game is only on the Epic games store so you won't find it on the list. There is one particular voiced line in the game where an African American character (the main character inserted into the story alongside Alan Wake) says "another white a**hole which was very clearly a jab at white people. There is also a scene involving Saga Anderson (the African American costar of the game) and 2 white cops which seems to yet again highlight how the 2 white cops are racist.
These parasites that infect these narratives are meant to divide us and turn us against each other so I say to hades with them. If you want to see a list of all of the studios working with Sweet Baby Inc., go on to their website. If you're like me and you don't want that woke garbage in your games, then boycott these companies games until they sever ties with Sweet Baby Inc. Go woke, go broke.
Only you could create such a thread and keep it well thought out- and the conversation going on 2 pages and the posts are shockingly full of brain cells for OT.

Applause!

Here is my take on it:

IDK this gaming company. I almost thought that it was a BBQ sauce brand at first glance.

Being a woke progressive liberal I generally agree with the original sentiment- and here are some more details and thoughts:

It was about 2003 when I was elated to find that they were bringing Battlestar Galactica back- until I watched it. I hated it with a passion! Among the countless things wrong were all the gender and race bending of classic characters.

Come on! Can nobody just come out with some cool new characters that are women and POC? Would that not be fertile ground for new storytelling? Just think of all the potential creative yields. That is lazy and a serious lack of creativity.

2024 is the year my medical nightmare ends and so far it has turned into a good year. The goal is by 2025 to turn it into a blowout. Financially, the goal is not millions. It's tech billions- think Musk, Gates... and if I can reach sufficient firepower the goal very much is to not only star in- but produce media.

Heck, Lost Wages as we speak is poaching all kinds of movie studios. I hope that Ron Defakepoliticalstuntis keeps antagonizing Disney and they move their billion$ here. Here in Nevada we love poaching jobs and industry from California and other states that don't have their act together.

Health still is not full blast. It is ramping up. When it's enough to be a roaring flame- then it's time to make a kamikaze run at fame and fortune.

If I can produce media the #1 goal is to be good. Along the path to that, things like inclusiviity should be factored into the mix on some level. If it isn't good- it doesn't matter.

The best way to get the message across is when it's something beloved. Do that, and all kinds of possibilities open up.
The problem with the group is when they blew up, they drew in a bunch of racist posters, and the group didn't have enough staff to police it.

Nevertheless Sweet Baby inc is cancer in moder day game industry

okay, but is the negative press generated by a tracking list helping or harming? especially given just how much attention they're getting now.
Negative attention can be good if you can capitalize on it, don't think they can given they are specifically a deterrent to sell specific products as in games they had involvement in.
