LGBT representation in gaming (not related to sweet baby)
Recently, I've found it embarrassing to associate myself with the LGBT community, despite being LGBT myself. the most recent thing they tried to do was add pride stuff to Helldivers 2, and the devs shot the idea down. The LGBTQ community got mad and started a big fight that died nearly immediately because no one cares. Apparently I'm supposed to be offended by this, but I'm not. I have a message for any developers, writers, art designers, and anyone else responsible for implementing new content into games.

NOT EVERYTHING HAS TO BE INCLUSIVE

Going back to the Helldivers example, a gaudy rainbow cape wouldn't fit the game's generally dark and gritty artstyle. From what I've heard, it wouldn't really fit the story either. Who cares if you're gay, here's a rifle, go give those bugs some democracy.

If inclusivity isn't a main theme of your game, don't add it. If you cave in to the begging, they will think they can force their ideas and sensitivities into any game. I think it's called negative reinforcement where you allow someone to do something to the point where they think it's normal or acceptable. It makes it very hard to support LGBT people when they are trying to do things like this. I'm sorry if this thread was a mess, I just had to get this off my chest.

TLDR: gaming should be a neutral space, and developers shouldn't add every minute thing their community wants, especially if it would skew the core themes and artstyle of the game.

Also i'd say not every LGBT person has to be some sort of Flamboyant individual, it's not how things works.

I know, but the bad side of the community is the most vocal, and therefore is the side that gets the most media attention and ends up making everyone look bad

Can't you just say you're gay/lesbian/trans or whatever without associating with the group?

I know few people irl who are like that.

i mean... its a sexual preference, why do we need that in games? especially in games that have nothing sexual in them.

Rob Halford, singer of the heavy metal band Judas Priest is gay and he typically dons on black leather biker outfits. My point is Judas Priest just released their new album and its 1000 times better than the piece of trash Metallica just put out.

I saw them in 1979. Iron Maiden was supporting act

I suspect there are several personality types in the LGBT community but of those they might fall into 2 major categories:

1. Those who mainly focuses on making their sexuality or gender identity define who they are

2. Those who make their life / career skills and (non LGBT) interests / hobbies define who they are
