My Xbox just scratched my discs and I am pissed
Just a few minutes ago at the time of typing this thread, I was playing a game on my Xbox 360 and all of a sudden, my console made a weird, malfunctioning noise. I ejected the game I was playing and what I got what a disc full of stratches and laser burns which rendered it completely unplayable. In my 10+ years of gaming, this has never happened to me, ever. Every time a disc or game was damaged, that was entirely my doing and I, therefore, learned to be more responsible with the items I posess. However, this situation is different as the damage was done entirely by the hardware, not me. When this happened, I was really pissed off and still am. I know that Xbox 360's are prone to hardware failures, but the one I got was in perfect working condition, so this happening was complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Even worse, the game I was playing isn't even owned by me, I borrowed it from a friend. My friend said that if I didn't return the disc to him by the end of the week, I would have to pay him, and I'm not kidding when I say this, 400$. There have been times where I've borrowed stuff from my friend and either lost them or flat out forgot to return them, decisions I completely regret. I don't want to repeat the same mistake again, so can anyone please, please tell me how to fix a disc with a lot of stratches and laser burns? I would really appreciate it.

Call your lawyer and sue your friend for extortion.
1. I don't have a lawyer.
2. My friend has the right to be skeptical as I've been careless when it comes to borrowing his stuff.
3. The 400 bucks I owe him isn't for the game, it's for his other items that I lost.

I wasn't too serious about the lawyer part. But I would say you may have to call an insurance company. Because you might not have to pay anything, if you didn't formally agreed on paying for the items in case of loss, when you agreed to this contract.

Simply put: Your friend cannot charge you for the items, if you didn't agreed to that.

I mean, he can try, but OP can also refuse. The friend can try and go to the police, but they'll wave it away as it's a civil issue. In the end, the only recourse that friend will have is to go after OP in small claims court. Is he the kind of person to do that over a $30 video game? Sounds like he's had no issue repeatedly loaning things out to OP even though OP lost his stuff multiple times.

OP, I would just go on Ebay and buy a fresh copy of that game, and if you have a problem losing/destroying your friend's things, stop borrowing their stuff. Your friend is equally to blame though, as he keeps willingly lending you things even though you keep losing them.

Maybe you should for once in your Life consider others and not how to weasel out of it.

idk what else u messed up of his stuff so i'd say try to come up with a fair amount let's say 200 ( idk )Dollars and just give it to him and apologize.

If you don't have that kind of money or need it for your next 1500 Dollars gaming PC :D :D :D -.-

just give him another one of your games he can sell or trade in for the copy lost

I think you just did your Friend a huge favor bc if he ain't r... he gonna cut you outta his Life

win - win

It's time to go on the run it's your only option at this point.

You can probably get a job on the streets under a nickname, it'll be hard but it'll keep you out of prison.

I'd try the insurance company, if I were you. They are specialized in that. They probably heard this story 100 times before, and know what to do.

Blame it on your sister. My friend that borrowed a PC-game 25 years ago annihilated it and still stick to his story and I still bring it up whenever possible.

If you don't have a few bucks to buy a replacement disc, I'd say you have some larger problems to deal with.

In Japan, you can buy an XTO for about 5 USD. It has every Xbox game ever made, and it's so durable it will outlast the wires in your wall. It actually might run you 8 USD... if you're the type of person that can bareal aim the food into your face hole.

Anyway, its amusing that americans would pay even 1 USD for a disk, I should be selling you people hot Tokyo eggplants & breaking the US economy.

Hope this helps in some way, or inspires you next time you're in Tokyo. Feel better soon my friend :KneelingBow:

It's amusing that anyone would spend millions of dollars making video games for people who don't pay for them.
