What is going on with Tinder ? It looks completely abandoned and dead these days. I can't get a match and I can't get laid :(

As far as I understand the reason Tinder is dead is the algos and the paradox of choice.

1. The algos show only the top 10% of guys, all the rest never really get shown to the ladies

2. The paradox of choice - To better explain this phenomenon, imagine you are in a restaurant with a huge menu. You will look at it for hours and will never be able to order your meal

I haven't seen any hard usage stats recently, but all accounts say a very lopsided percentage of users are desperate men. Not enough women using it to be sustainable.

People have recommended me Tinder in the past. People either forgot or didn't know that I don't care about such things.

There is a merit to Tinder, however, in its defense. Tinder has a unique feature which I haven't seen or maybe noticed in other dating apps. But Tinder allows you for a small fee of course :), to actually change your address and look for dating overseas across the world.

All other apps lock you in your area of residence. Therefore you can be missing on a lot of fun overseas :)

I think most of those swipe-style dating apps have fallen off.
Maybe people stopped deluding themselves that they'd find something serious on there, or something.

That sounds good and classic, nothing wrong with it. Until you realize that the average Joe's life is so busy from working that he or she can't get the actual experience.

Facebook was trying to get advantage of dating but their project never really got wide endorsement. And the reason is simple. People like certain degree of anonymity when it comes to dating. For many many reasons, after all on Facebook you are open book and this can attract unwanted attention
