That depends on how rude they were and the context/content of their rudeness...
It's possible for anyone to have a bad day. Cashiers are human-beings first, cashiers second...
There may have been a time when I would shrug it off or even be rude in return. These days, I'd ask them "what's wrong" or "are you OK." I'd even try to engage with them on that and, if rebuffed, I'd let them know anyone can have a bad day and move along.
I've done it. No, it doesn't always yield positive results. But, at least there's a chance of positive results occurring rather than the certainty of continuing "rudeness." :)
Honestly some people are just having a bad day.
I feel like 99% of these types of issues could be resolved by simply communicating like a human being.
But people would rather get worked up over perceived slights in their heads.
The people who deserve a REAL ass-kicking, you probably shouldn't treat as anything other than entitled little princesses, because they're the bastards who'll consume your soul if so much as breathe wrong.
In-other-words, slap the other cheek while you're at it. It won't make you feel better.
karen or kyle behavior
just get your stuff and get out
only get / bother the manager if they try to screw you out of money or tamper with your groceries
other than that just keep walking don't even bother
-Robert E. Howard
You want to talk down to me in real life you'll find you are talking to someone who won't waste a second of my time on you.
No; I would simply shop somewhere else for 3 to 5 years.
After 3 to 5 years then I would occasionally shop there again but if that person still worked there I would turn around and walk out the store every time I saw that person working.
I have had this happen 2 times before and last boycott lasted just over 5 years.
That cashier is now assist manager but luckily seldom works after 4 PM. This way I can avoid this person.
